Dawnsbury Days - The Four-Leaf Clover · published · build 23263924
This patch further improves performance on top of the improvements in the previous patch. Many of the performance improvements in this patch were tested on the Workshop mod "500 kobolds" (thank you to the author!):
Previously, Dawnsbury Days often froze when you attempted to even enter this map, and in any case, even if you did manage to enter, you'd have to wait a long time for any kind of movement or animation to happen.
This patch's improvements focused on making this map playable, and so have the greatest effect on encounters with huge numbers of creatures, which aren't too common. But the improvements did have at least some effect on all encounters, albeit more modest, and so we see some benefit in all encounters:
Full patch notes:
Performance:
Performance: Greatly improved the performance of the flanking algorithm.
Performance: Improved the performance of taking all actions by moving logging onto a delayed background thread.
Performance: Improved memory locality.
Performance: Reduced the number of repetitive calculations performed so that they're instead perform on-demand only. This improves the general performance of the rules engine, especially because it speeds up the state-check.
Performance: Improved the performance of the shift-off algorithm. This removes a rare freeze or stutter in situations where a room is entirely or almost entirely filled with creatures.
Performance: Improved the performance of wielding the gate attenuator.
Modding:
Modding: If a modder accidentally places a door on top a wall in the map editor, Dawnsbury Days will now interpret this as a door, not as a wall with door shunted off to the side.
Bugfixes:
Audio: Fixed that if a computer-controlled monster could not take any action, it would produce a sound notification as if it wanted to pop up the "Are you sure?" dialog even though there is no dialog.
Modding: Fixed that Seek wasn't tagged with as a .IsPerception check.
