Hi Universe Architects,

HOTFIX 46.32: Reintroduced Resolution options in Windowed Mode.

We’re back with another quality of life update as we continue refining the changes introduced with Reality Reboot. Our first Reboot update brought more control over time, and now we're making rebooting more fun.

Nanobots already exist within the simulation with automated node purchasing and progression. As a core system players rely on, they are the perfect foundation to enhance. With this update, Nanobots are now stronger than ever, working more intelligently to support your progression. Curious to see how much they’ve changed? Find out in:

Find out more about Nanobots by watching the official trailer here.

A Smarter Bot

The most notable change to Nanobots is how and what they buy. They were previously limited to purchasing trait nodes only visible on the screen. Now, they are smarter, faster, and last for a longer period of time. The new Nanobots can progress through the tree in significantly less time or generate more tapping currency than ever before. Players can resume where they last left off much sooner after each Primary Simulation reboot.

Nanobots are now also better at prioritizing which nodes to unlock, purchasing from cheapest to most expensive while following the most cost-effective path. They are able to act more independently and efficiently, reducing the need for manual oversight. Sit back and trust your Nanobots.

In The Reality Engine

Nanobots previously had only one upgrade, which simply increased their number. While useful, this left them with limited gameplay depth.

We wanted them to be more compelling, so we expanded what they can do and added another strategic layer to progression with a new Nanobots branch in the Reality Engine tree. Players can complete up to 35 unlockable upgrades, with more being added in future updates.

These upgrades are designed to make Nanobots stronger and more customizable based on player preference. Increase the amount of generators bought at once with Nanobot Multibuy, set Nanobots on autopilot at the start of each reboot with Nanobot Auto-Start, and so much more.

As Nanobots become more powerful and focused, their maximum number changes from 12 to 6, with their strength scaled accordingly. Each Nanobot has a much greater impact based on the upgrades unlocked, adding another strategic layer while leaving room for future expansion. All players with 7+ Nanobots will receive a Knowledge refund for their previously purchased Nanobots. Additionally, these players will also receive a special achievement.

Quality of Life Updates

In addition to Nanobots, we’ve tackled a number of improvements across the game.

Added:

  • A Semblance icon now appears on the Reality Engine and Upgrade buttons when it’s a good time to reboot

  • Semblance suggestions are now sorted to the top of the side panel

  • A "Collect" button has been added for the Beyond E30 Dwarf Star rewards

  • New resolution options are also available in fullscreen mode

  • Nanobots have their own section in the Augmentation store

  • System log entry have been updated to include Mollusk, Industrial Revolution II and the Beyond

Fixed:

  • Resolved an issue where the Big Ben achievement was displayed as Amino Acid in the Mesozoic Valley and Beyond

  • Retuned the Beyond E30: Flat Universe trophy node to make it easier to achieve

  • Resolved window and fullscreen resolution issues for Windows and Mac

  • The Sea Bunny shader has been fixed

  • Continued polish on early gameplay experience

Save System Improvements:

  • Improved UI/UX for creating a new save file

  • An error notification now appears when there is insufficient phone storage to generate a save file

It is with a heavy heart that we’ve decided to suspend the Arabic language version, as it no longer meets our team’s quality standards or offers the gameplay experience our players deserve. We thank you for your patience and support.

New Cosmetics

Real talk– we’ve been a little sad that Nanobots could only dress up as bees or cats. There should be more options! To help celebrate this epic comeback, players can now equip more than one Nanobot cosmetic at once. Mix and match to your heart’s content, or show off your entire collection in a Nanobot array.

And if that visual couldn’t get any better, there are also three new Nanobot cosmetics now available in the Augmentation Store:

  • Monocle Nanobot

  • Rubber Duck Nanobot

  • Emo Nanobot

Which of these new Nanobot cosmetics are you excited to add to your simulation?

Reboot: Nanobots is available to play now on Steam and will be available on iOS and Android by 05/13/2026 at 11:59 PM ET.

This marks the second quality of life Reboot update. We’re always thinking about how to improve the simulation, so we’d love to hear about your thoughts and experiences on the new Nanobots in the comments.

Our goal for 2026 is to release content on a regular cadence, with Reboot updates added to the mix. We’re working on some exciting new content behind the scenes, but we’re still figuring out where everything fits into future releases. The roadmap isn’t ready yet, but we’ll share more soon. Until then, keep an eye on the Simulation. Something new is scuttling in.

Stay Cellular,

- The Cells Team
