New Update: Protocols — A New Layer of Squad-Wide Power!

New Feature: Protocols

Protocols are a new type of passive module that boosts your entire squad at once. They are very rare items, and they live in their own dedicated PROTOCOLS tab in the inventory and slot into 6 fixed party-wide slots — once equipped, every character benefits automatically, with no need to gear them individually.

What Protocols boost

  • Survivability: HP %, Energy Armor %, HP Regen, Energy Armor Regen, plus flat HP / Armor / resistances and physical defense

  • Offense: Physical, Fire, Lightning, and Poison damage bonuses, Attack Speed, Reload Speed, Critical Chance, and Critical Damage

  • Specialization: Bonus damage against specific monster types (Insects, Humanoids, Robots, Beasts, Aliens) and against rank tiers (Normal, Captains, Bosses), plus matching defense bonuses

How they scale

Protocol stats roll on a 9-tier system that scales with item level, with higher tiers unlocking as you progress. Higher rarity protocols come with more stat lines, and there is even a chance for the same stat to roll multiple times on a single protocol, stacking additively for stronger bonuses.Protocols are also the only items in Standard game mode that benefit from the Item Quality Chain — every bonus stat has a chance to double its value on roll, and on success it keeps chaining for further doublings. This makes a well-rolled protocol stand out far above its base tier and turns each drop into a potential jackpot.
