PATCH: Update 0.3 is live!

Greetings Carants!

As December rears its head around the corner (where did the year go?), we’re here with an early Christmas present: Update 0.3. With it comes an abundance of new content specially prepared just for you, from an opulent new city with mysteries abound to a gruff companion ready to bear his sword against your enemies.

PEREN

A new update means a new location to get your hands on! Peren will be your next stop on your journey – with noble scheming awaiting, how will you navigate plots set to trip you up?

But don’t let their machinations stop you from touring Peren’s gardens and admiring the ruins scattered around the countryside. Take your time, breathe in the fresh air, and then proceed to break into some poor soul’s home. We know you want to.

Read more about Peren here.

TILL: A NEW COMPANION

Till enters the fray! With patch 0.3, you’ll also have a new companion join your side. Originally from the Coin Guard, Till fights with a two-handed sword and launches himself into your enemies to provide you with a much-needed defensive line in tricker battles.

A gruff man with a sharp sense of humour, he’ll shoulder you throughout and aide you in your plans. Use him well, Carants – he'll no doubt be a boon to your team.

Read more about Till here.

CHARACTER CREATOR

Do you enjoy spending hours in the character creator, deliberating on how you want your character to look? Well, we have just the thing. More in-depth than previous character creators by the studio, you now have more freedom than ever before when it comes to making the character of your dreams.

Tweak aspects such as the nose, hair, and face, then prepare yourself for the journey ahead. Will you create a stunning beauty or a sleep paralysis demon? We’ll leave that up to you.

Read more about the character creator here.

THE PHOTOMODE

The time has come: our update introduces the long-awaited Photomode. Snap pictures of whatever takes your fancy, from bustling cities to the wildlife around you. Want to get pictures of your character with your favourite companion? Perhaps you’d even like to create memes? This is the place to do that.

So get ready for the camera, Carants, and pose!

Read more about the Photomode here.

SAVES

You asked for it and we heard you: we’ve provided you with save files that allow you to skip the beginning of the story.

This means you’ll now be able to start the game just before getting the Constanzia or after the end of Olima’s questline, allowing you to jump straight into Peren. These save files will allow you to choose between a female or male character, though you won’t be able to customize them via the character creator.

Read more about the save files here.

AND MORE!

This isn’t all, of course. Below are some of the other things this update will introduce:

- Game profiles – Pick the style that suits you best and get ready for battle!

- Enhanced crafting – Craft or upgrade your gear. If its time has come, you can even recycle it.

- Overhauled armour system – We made some changes to the armour system to give you an easier time in battle.

- QOL and improvements – Various improvements have been made to the game and its performance for your enjoyability!

- Bug fixes. Of course, we had to fix some pesky bugs making the rounds. Really, how did they get there? But don’t worry, we’ve made sure to squash these ones out:

  • Fixed an issue with floating items scattered across the realm - they're now properly grounded and can no longer ascend.

  • Fixed an issue where your companions will suddenly walk away from your camp after using the 'Gather party' function. There's no escape for them now.

  • Fixed an issue where blood inside buckets appeared pixelated in a certain laboratory. You can now admire it in all its gory glory.

  • Fixed an issue in 'Get information about Ikbal to find her' where an objective couldn't be completed, which caused issues for the rest of the quest.

  • Fixed a collision issue preventing the character from crossing under the reconstructed bridge behind the warehouse in Olima's Harbour.

  • Fixed an issue where if a save is created on the boat, the player can't board it when reloading after launching the game.

  • Fixed an issue where Sybille's model appears during a certain conversation when she's not in the party.

  • Fixed an issue where map buttons vanished after using the travel prompt on the world map and switching to the local map.

  • Fixed an issue where 'view messages' couldn't be highlighted with a mouse cursor at the player's camp.

  • Fixed an issue where Hunter's Ointment didn't allow players to sneak past Monkeys and Majidas.

  • Fixed an issue where upon completing 'Beast in the Military Quarter', two of its objectives aren't marked as completed in the journal.

  • Fixed an issue where equipment could be duplicated.

  • Fixed an issue where a survival check appeared where it shouldn't after interacting with a poster in Olima Military.

  • Fixed an issue where a quest marker wouldn't disappear despite completing the quest.

  • Fixed an issue with a pop-up tutorial indicating you could press number 0-9 to advance it, but pressing 1 didn't work.

  • Fixed an issue where, during a conversation with Admiral Cabral, Alvida's lip synch stopped working for parts of it.

  • Fixed an issue where NPCs and companions could spawn with status effects.

  • Fixed an issue where damage types weren't correctly described in 'Agility', 'Perception', and 'Willpower's' descriptions.

  • Fixed an issue where the sort window could be opened over the 'item already equipped' pop-up despite the latter taking priority.

  • Fixed an issue where loading a save file, returning to the main menu, and starting a new game would cause infinite loading even after rebooting.

  • Fixed an issue where the player character would lag while turning during a sprint.

  • Fixed an issue where the greyed-out skill bar remained partially responsive when using the 'bind' or 'rebind' prompt with the keyboard.

  • Fixed an issue where obsolete controller trigger prompts were shown on the party tab and character preview screen if the party only featured one member.

  • Fixed an issue where skipping a cutscene in the West Coast of Thynia caused the camera to zoom in on the MC from far away once the player's party was selected.

  • Fixed an issue where, when playing in Russian, buttons would appear outside the box when hovering over skills set to the shortcut bar.

  • Fixed an issue where the 'Queen dualist' perk didn't work.

  • Fixed an issue where the player character was briefly visible before the intro cutscene when starting a New Game.

  • Fixed various performance issues.

  • Fixed various animation issues.

  • Fixed various environment and collision issues.

  • Fixed various localization issues.

  • Fixed various clipping and camera issues.

  • Fixed various UI issues.

  • Fixed various detail quality issues.

  • And more!

That's all for now, Carants. We hope you enjoy the update and everything it has to offer - this journey certainly comes with its own sets of twists and turns!
