DEEPWATER's First Major Content Update is Coming Soon

Hello! Its been a minute since I last updated the game. Things didn't go as expected, and I was forced to switch multiplayer services.

As you can imagine, this is a monumental task, especially for someone who is working alone (me).
Don't worry though, it's almost done! Right now, the new build is not accessible, due to some things still not working properly. I'm hard at work getting this ready for you all to try!

This has been something that honestly, was inevitable. The old service was easy to use, but limited.
It's what was causing most of the issues, from items getting desynced, to things not even showing for some people. This new service is much more complex, but much more stable and secure.

Once it's ready, there will be a public beta you can try that will be using the new multiplayer service. I hope to have this beta out by the end of the month.

For now, the beta will only let you join people through Steam invites.

Once the beta is out and all the remaining issues have been dealt with, its new content time!
I've been planning a major content update for the demo, focusing on guns. I've wanted this game to be focused on guns ever since the start, but right now in their current state most players either don't know they exist, can't get them, or simply don't think they are useful enough.

The update isn't just going to be "I updated the guns to be better goodbye".
I don't want to spoil too much, but the new content is going to change the entire game.
I want every single major content update I make to be game changing, and offer new ways to play.
They wont just be 1 or 2 new creatures and a new item.

Also, the voice chat is gonna sound a lot different. It's a long story, but you know that popping/buzzing sound bug? That was due to how I was getting the voice chat to have all of the audio effects of the audio engine, since I don't use the built in audio engine (BIG MISTAKE).

Since I had to switch multiplayer services, I also had to switch voice chat providers.
I'm not going to bother getting the voice chat to have the audio effects, since it sucks.

Soon after this is all over, I will be migrating away from the current audio engine over to the built in one. This will also be a long and painful process, but it will be worth it.

Oh, and the lantern item is getting removed. It's funny watching people buy it, and immediately kill themselves with it. Funny, but unfair and confusing. Doesn't belong in a game about skill and teamwork.

Alright, that's enough rambling from me. Thank you everyone who has tried the game and given me feedback, it means the world to me.

As always, if you want to leave bug reports, or feedback, or just say hi, you can join my Discord server.
