Players who visited our booths at GeekGirlCon 2023 and the MIX @ LA Comic Con 2023 last year may have noticed something interesting: a little Steam Deck in the corner with the game's title screen running on it. The rumors were true! Tower Song was playable on Steam Deck!
After months of both internal and public testing, we therefore happy to report that we believe Tower Song is fully playable on Steam Deck.
From the beginning, we have wanted to support as many controller options with Tower Song as we could, and fortunately, RPG Maker MZ was already compatible with SteamDeckOS. So we can confirm:
- Tower Song appears and runs in both Steam Deck OS libraries and Steam Deck Desktop mode
- In-game buttons take on the appearance of Steam Deck buttons during use
- There appear to be no performance issues or bugs exclusive to Steam Deck
- New for v1.0 - Users can select Performance mode to enjoy 60 FPS for most gameplay, or Minimal mode for even better performance
Update 6/20/24: v1.0 has brought additional controller support, as well as additional graphics settings to allow Steam Deck players to squeeze more performance out of their playthroughs!
