A Wild 9 Days for the Winter Burrow Team

The last 9 days have been quite a ride for the team behind Winter Burrow. First of all, we want to thank you all for your support and for your engagement in the project. We truly value your feedback and input. We are reading through everything and making note of all the wishes and ideas. We hear you, and we are already working on adding some of the things you have been asking for, alongside fixing bugs and odd things in the game.

A Message From Benjamin, Game Director

Finally releasing the game has been amazing, and I (Benjamin, CEO & Game Director) am thankful to everyone who has helped us reach this point. A lot of people have been a part of making Winter Burrow what it is and I would not have been able to do it without you! Big thank you to my partner and my three kids, who have helped me stay grounded in this process.

Thank You for Your Reviews and Comments

Thank you so much for all the posts, reviews and comments you write. It is so valuable and useful for us to hear what you think about the game and how you envision what could be added to the game.

We also want to let you know that it hurts our compassionate souls when we hear that you struggle with bugs. We do our best to constantly track these bugs and to fix them. We hope you will have patience with us, since we are a small team, and we are also working on other updates and improvements.

First Major Addition: The Map

The first major thing to get added to the game is a map! It will be a map that you can open, and it will fill the entire screen. Here you can see all the areas you’ve unlocked, and you can see which area you are currently in. It will not be a map that gives you a detailed idea of exactly where you are, since we still want to keep a sense of discovery and surprise. But it will help you find your way around and especially help you find your way back home. We hope you like it, and we would love to get your feedback on it.

Storage Improvements Are Coming

We also fully agree on your feedback regarding storage. It should definitely be possible to sort your stuff, and storage should be separated into each single storage unit you craft. This is an update that will require us to change the structure of the game, so it will take some time - but we are on it!

Key Rebinding and Better Controls

Remapping keys, you say!? We hear you, and we would love to offer this option so that you can personalize the controls to your liking. That is why this one is also at the top of upcoming things we will work on.

Speaking of controls, we are still working on making the keyboard and mouse support even smoother and more enjoyable, so thank you for your input on this.

Keep the Feedback Coming

There is plenty more amazing feedback and wishes we got from you, which we have added to a long list. So let us know in the comments what you look the most forward to - then we can bump those things up to the top of the list! :)

A Little Secret Surprise…

Last but not least - secretly, we are also working on a little surprise for you all. We can’t say much yet, but you will get it before the shortest day arrives and the long dark nights slowly turn shorter. We will be able to tell you more soon.

Thanks everyone! 🥰🐭🪓🌲🥧🫖
