A bit of history
You may not know this, but the original "City of Abandoned Ships" was quite officially and extensively reworked by BlackMark Studio. So much so that many still consider our version of CoAS the default one.
But we didn't finish the job, the project went into the hands of the community, and after many years, the game is finally getting a second life thanks to ReCon Team and the work of dozens of people from the modding community. The circle is complete. It was all worth it.
When Caribbean Legend was in the home stretch and I had resolved all legal matters related to the rights to the CoAS/TEHO engine and assets, I reached out to the three most prominent modding teams - those I knew at the time.
The proposal was simple: release on Steam under the Caribbean Legend brand, receiving the lion's share of sales and pushing this series forward.
One team declined, two agreed, but only one made it to the announcement. ReCon Team - you guys are amazing and this day is yours. Support these folks with a wishlist.
And if you think the series is stagnating and we're just reselling old assets here, wait for the Caribbean Legend 2.0 trailer. I'll say it again - it was all worth it.
