NITRO GEN OMEGA - Official Artbook · published
Crew, we have a major update coming and we need your help to test it!
A complete rework of all activities, new activities, items, traits, and a lot more!
Crew, Patch 07 is now available on the Beta branch! We’ve reworked all the ship activities, introduced four new activities, expanded character traits, and so much more.
Here’s the complete changelog:
The entire activity system on the ship wasn’t quite in line with what we wanted to achieve, so to add more depth and interesting choices to this part of the game, we’ve rebalanced and revised the entire activity system, as well as added four new activities.
We have introduced a new statistic for pilots: Fatigue. Pilot fatigue always increases at the end of each fight and only decreases by performing certain activities. Unlike mood, having a high fatigue will never cause pilots to abandon the crew, but bad things could happen if it is not managed…
Unique activities for friends and rivals. We have introduced two activities that can only be performed by pilots who are friends or rivals. These two activities are not initially available but must be unlocked. The items to unlock them are on sale in the General Stores of some cities.
Tuning is one of the new activities introduced with this update. It allows pilots to further customize their mech, turning scrap and other pieces obtained from enemies into a new type of mech parts. There are a lot of new parts, ranging from Common to Legendary, for the Monki and the Ocelot.
Smoothie is one of the new activities introduced with this update. A pilot can prepare a smoothie using some of the ingredients that can also be used for cooking. Smoothies provide powerful instant effects and new skills that last for several fights. Unlike cooking, this activity only affects the character who performs it, not the entire crew.
To further differentiate the characters from each other, we have significantly expanded the trait system, adding 13 new traits and completely changing the functioning of the seven existing ones. Each pilot can have up to two traits.
An activity’s icon now shows directly whether the activity has already been done or not, and it is no longer necessary to open it to find out. Furthermore, when choosing the characters to perform an activity, it is indicated which ones cannot do it and the reason for this.
We have added several new items, skills, etc.
55 new parts craftable with tuning
8 new ingredients for cooking and smoothies
4 new items to unlock activities
4 new homesteading skills for tuning
1 new event
We are continuing to optimize the game to improve performance. The effect should be especially visible on Steam Deck and older graphics cards.
Various fixes to minor issues.
You will find a Beta branch right here on Steam called “Permanent Beta.”
You can access the Beta branch by right clicking on NITRO GEN OMEGA > Properties > Betas and selecting it from the dropdown menu.
The Beta comes with an important warning: BACK UP YOUR SAVE FILES.
Loading an existing save file might make it incompatible with the regular version of the game. Handle with care.
Your save files are located in %localappdata%\\Overdrive\\Saved\\SaveGames
After the much-needed changes to the map and ship, the next critical part of the game we want to revisit is the tutorial and the game’s first-player experience in general. Also, there might be a bit too few things shooting at you in battle; we might add a few more.
We share regular updates with our community on Discord and our weekly stream.
