Hello survivors, First of all, thank you for your support and patience throughout the last year. Your dedication to providing critical feedback, suggestions, bug reports and technical troubleshooting during our demo was a literal game changer. With your help, we have been able to lock in the vision for our Early Access release - we have been in the icy trenches since - focusing on improving the core elements of the game, including stability, performance, and key gameplay foundations.

So, this brings us to the release date.Permafrost will release into Early Access in 2026 We want to bring the best possible Early Access release build to you - one that’s not rushed, but rather polished and with a solid foundation, built with your feedback, reports, and requests. In other words, it’s for the best. We know it sucks to wait, but hang in there and let the devs cook, it will be worth it.

And, for those of you that absolutely can’t wait to play, we will be hosting a playtest prior to the release. You can already request access on the store page: With that news, we didn’t want to leave you without more information on Permafrost’s development, so next week we will be sharing a deep dive into what’s changing under the hood and what it means for your experience. Many thanks for your continued support, we can’t wait to see you in game! From the Cold Zone,
Your Permafrost Team

That's why we decided to focus our efforts on improving this area! We wanted it to read as shelter rather than just a safe zone. The world already ended out there, but Horizon is where it hasn't quite finished the job. A place for you and a small community, against the end of the world. Have a look for yourself: Stay warm!Community9 Sep 2026Thank You For 500,000 WishlistsSurvivors! 500,000 of you have wishlisted Permafrost .
