Next Patch Preview

But here's what you really want to know: what's coming next for Discounty? Well, we've been working hard on our next patch, which will be focused on adding quality of life and accessibility features!

Since launch we've gotten so many requests from our community to add additional settings and improve the way certain systems work, and we're happy we can finally deliver them to you! We don't have a release date yet for this patch, but stay tuned -- we're hoping to share more news soon.

Impatient Customer Improvements

A lot of players have mentioned that sometimes it's unclear why customers become impatient and leave negative reviews, even if you've done everything "right." We've made a series of tweaks to make patience feel more fair, so that if you are attentive to all of your tasks, customers will be less likely to become impatient -- but the inverse is also true! We've also added a visual indicator to show when customers' patience is getting tested:

Walking on a dirty floor will test anyone's patience!

Appeal & Booster Rebalance

We're also making a number of tweaks to make appealing shelves and boosters have a more meaningful impact on customer behavior. Currently, in some layouts, customers will almost always go to the shelf that has the highest appeal rating, even when other appealing shelves are nearby. In this patch we're tweaking customer behavior so that lower-appeal shelves can tempt more customers. We're also increasing the number of impulse purchases customers can make overall, so that having lots of appealing shelves and boosters feels like a more worthwhile investment.

Shopping List Display

Once you have a busy shop, customers' shopping lists can really start to clutter up your screen. We've cleaned up this UI into a neat little stack of lists that you can switch between using your keyboard or controller.

New Settings

Additional settings might sound like the most "boring" new addition, but we think it's also the most important -- and definitely what players have asked for the most! We're adding new settings to allow different font size options, turn off text animations, increase accessibility, and more. Adding these options has taken a good amount of time, but we think it's really important to make sure Discounty can be enjoyed by as many players as possible.

We've also spent a long time working on improvements to systems "under the hood" that players won't notice, but which will make it a lot more efficient for us to keep building future content. Plus, there are a few more miscellaneous improvements...here's a peek at one:

Finally, you can hide the scanner guide!

Please Leave a Steam Review!

If you haven't yet, please take a moment to leave a review on Steam! Your feedback has been invaluable as we continuing improving the game, and every review helps us reach new players.

That's it for now, and as always, thank you for shopping at Discounty!

xoxo
