Hi Cozy Builders!
Based on some recent feedback from the Demo, we have made some improvements! If you haven't played it yet, play now! Even if you have played it, play again! The joy of this game lies in its endless replayability! Even if you have finished the demo objectives, there is no limit to how many creative ways you can build your home in these beautiful sunlit vineyards.
Here are some ideas: Maybe build a home with an indoor atrium? Or an attached greenhouse patio?
QOL Changes:
- Sprint speed slightly increased
- Sprint is now a "Toggle". Once toggled, it stays on sprint throughout the game session, unless toggled off. So, if you like a faster speed, simply turn on sprint once and leave it. If you feel like walking for relaxation, character will switch back to 'walk' when sprint is turned off.
- Hint now shows approximately how many meters away the nearby piece is (in the bottom left)
- The progress of individual homes in the Master Builder objective can now be seen atop the build menu. Simply open the build menu inside each house to see how many pieces it needs.
- Placing a building piece that is contingent on another piece being placed beforehand now properly gives an Error Message
For example, when trying to place a wall without a foundation will now properly notify the builder
New Objectives
- A new task, Decorate Mary's house, is available at Trader Gavin. We want to give you a small taste of what else to expect in the main game. Yes, there are decoration objectives, with scores, rewards, and achievements. If you love decorating, placing greenery, or building, then you are in for a treat!
- New task Home Sweet Home is automatically given after Master Builder is completed (albeit not retroactively). This task requests players to build their own home from the ground up. If you have already completed Master Builder prior to this update, the Home Sweet Home task will automatically be given when you start building your own home by placing a few foundations and walls. If you have already built a home, simply go inside your home to trigger completion of your objective.
But hey! why not build a new home? 🏡
Performance Optimizations:
- Some Shadow casting optimizations were done to boost performance on low-end machines (Ryzen 5 or similar)
- Devices closer to minimum specs will experience a noticeable performance gain and smoother play
- New shadows ON/OFF setting inside the game to help boost performance on lower end machines. Once the character is loaded in the game, press Esc and click Settings to see this new option
World Changes:
- Cleared up some uneven hills to create more 'flat land' next to the last puzzle house along the town road. This allows for builders to build their own house along the town road.
- Fixed a small visual glitch on the town road that was causing slight mesh like aberrations on certain computers.
