We're massive fans of the work of Zach Barth and his team, from the Zachtronics days to the new studio, Coincidence. We’ve always admired how their games make systems literacy fun-- a mission we share!
When I heard they were launching a new game while I was visiting Coincidence's new headquarters, I thought about ways that we could support them. We were already planning our next game jam, so I texted Zach to see how we could help, and we decided together that timing it just before their launch would be the most impactful way to rally support. The Coincidence team is deep in launch mode, but our goal is simple: point everyone we can to that wishlist button, and turn our players into game devs for a RAD launch weekend.
Throughout the event, we'll be streaming your jam games, talking hackmud, and hyping up their new title.
Kaizen is the Japanese concept of continuous improvement, and the belief that small, consistent efforts lead to incredible outcomes. This philosophy is the very core of hackmud’s RAD (Rapid Application Development) and FAFO (Flail About and Figure Out) mindset: start messy, build fast, iterate often, and get better every time.
This jam celebrates that spirit, and rewards everyone in the process.

Every point earned unlocks limited-edition glams for the entire community.

The more everyone participates, the better everyone’s rewards become!
Every point participants earn goes into a shared pool, unlocking new reward tiers. These glams are additive, meaning each tier we break through unlocks another unique glam for everyone's collection.
The final, most prestigious glam continues to upgrade with every point earned past the final goal. This ultimate reward will be engraved with permanent jam stats, turning it into a monument to our shared victory. This final glam will track things like: total participants, total points earned, and more.
