Greetings, adventurers!

In this series of posts, I will share a few details about the expansion and address common questions along the way. The expansion is still in development, and adjustments will be made during internal playtesting, so the information presented here is not 100% final.

Please note that Aftermath is designed for players who have completed the base game and seek more of the same, but with some tweaks and additions.

Itemization Changes

DR2A features two new weapon types: Greatswords and Spears. In addition, it features two new Accessory types: Shields (extra defense or a small chance to deflect attacks) and Cloaks (reduce the likelihood of being targeted).

The item roster has been revised, and now the game features 171 unique items. In comparison, DR2 featured about 140 unique items, with about 60 upgraded variants.

Item drops were revised, and items found in the dungeon can have various modifiers applied to them. For example, you can find a generic weapon covered in poison or a robe that offers extra protection against physical damage.

Upgrade System Changes

The upgrade system in DR2 was too restrictive in the long run, so it was changed in DR2A.

Weapons and Armor can be upgraded up to +50, and upgrade prices are generally lower compared to DR2. This way, you can hold onto your favorite items for much longer and avoid situations where you can't find better gear, yet don't have enough gold to upgrade your current items.

Thank you for your continued support,
