Visiting Indie Friends – and a Souvenir for You

This week, Zwi from the Toukana founding team is in the Netherlands, visiting some of our fellow indie game studios and friends. He brought back plenty of new impressions, and a 10% discount for you. But more on that later in this lovely little travel journal.

Dorf Surprise on Arrival

It’s always special for us to stay connected with other developers, exchange ideas, and see what everyone is working on. But honestly, who would have thought you’d have a Dorfromantik windmill right outside the appartment window when coming here? Spot the difference ...

First Stop: Céline and Curiosmos

The first visit was to Céline, who is currently developing Curiosmos.

Curiosmos is a cozy space sim where you build your own solar system by hand. Crafting planets, moons, gravity, atmosphere, and even life. You’ll embark on a journey to discover the secrets of the universe, one carefully placed orbit at a time.

It was great to see the game in development and talk about ideas, challenges, and all the little details that go into making something wholesome and special.

Next Stop: Sokpop and Stacklands

After that, Zwi continued on to visit Sokpop, a studio many of you might know from Stacklands.

Stacklands is a village builder where you stack cards to collect food, build structures, and fight creatures. For example, dragging a Villager card onto a Berry Bush will spawn Berry cards that villagers can eat to survive. Play your cards right and slowly expand your village.

We’ve always enjoyed Stacklands (and actually all the other hundreds of games that the Sockpop Collective has released), so it was especially nice to spend some time with the team.

And while being in their studio, we also arranged something for you:

👉 We’ve put together a Dorfromantik x Stacklands Bundle.

Dorfromantik players can now get Stacklands with 10% off. Check it out if you are interested!

Local Board Game Store: Look What They Have in Stock!

And of course, there was still time to do a little strolling around. Checking out nice food places and local game stores. They even had the Dorfromantik - Light Luggage travel edition in stock, which we only released last fall. Perfect for backpacks and long train rides ...

Back to Berlin – And Back to Dorfromantik

... speaking of ... for Zwi, it’s now time to head back to Berlin.

We have some Dorfromantik plans for spring that need preparing, and there’s plenty to do in the coming weeks.

We hope you enjoy this little travel souvenir ... and as always, thank you for being part of our journey. 💚
