But first, we want to take a moment to say something personal:
We never thought that one day our own board games would be standing on our shelves. Seeing Dorfromantik as a physical game is still something we’re very grateful for. Being able to work so closely with such talented board game authors is a real privilege, and we’re thankful for every step of this journey.
Here’s a quick overview of the Dorfromantik board games that are currently available.
This is the classic Dorfromantik experience on the table: calm, cooperative, and focused on building beautiful landscapes together. Our original tile placement system, just a little more campaign-driven than you know it from the digital version.
Playstyle: Cooperative or solo
Players: 1–6
A more competitive take on Dorfromantik, where you face each other directly and compare your results. Both players build their own landscapes with identical tiles.
Playstyle: Competitive (versus)
Players: 2 (up to 4 with two copies)
Sakura introduces a new biome and a different atmosphere, while keeping the familiar Dorfromantik feeling. A Japan-inspired setting with cherry blossoms and rice fields.
Playstyle: Cooperative or solo
Players: 1–6
Smaller tiles, shorter playtime, magnetic box. A compact version made for travelling and shorter sessions.
Playstyle: Cooperative or solo
Players: 1–4
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing solo experience, cozy family time, or a competitive challenge, we hope there’s something for everyone.
Now for the news.
Some of you may have already heard that we’re working on new content for the PC version of Dorfromantik, and that a mobile edition is currently in the works. But we haven’t talked much yet about what’s coming next for the Dorfromantik board games, so let’s change that!
We’re currently working on several new Dorfromantik board game adaptations. After Duel and Sakura, another major Dorfromantik board game title is coming later this year.
Release Timing: The main concept is already in place. Now we’re diving into the design work. We’ll be showcasing the game this autumn at SPIEL in Essen, Germany (public fair for board games). The event is scheduled for the end of October.
Alongside the major game, we’re also developing several new smaller editions, each bringing fresh ideas and new ways to experience Dorfromantik. 🧩
All Dorfromantik board games are developed in close collaboration with our partner Pegasus Spiele.
Working hand in hand with experienced board game authors has been incredibly important for us, and it’s one of the reasons why this whole journey feels so special.
