Our new Pinnacle of Speed Season features some very special guests, as Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends (with one evil exception), will be dashing onto the track and taking over our Spotlight event!
The new event will not only include a new super car for you to collect, but also brand-new Decals for some of your favorite cars, sporting the likeness of your favorite characters from the world of Sonic, along with some cool emotes for you to spam on the track.
A Special Spotlight
We’ve given our Spotlight events yet another round of improvements for this very special occasion.
So special in fact, that we’re adding a Special Event spin to proceedings, so the new Racing Around the World event will be somewhat familiar... but with a twist!
New stages will try and match Sonic’s tempo and unlock every 6 hours, however these will come in two flavors!
Ring Collection Stages
Your first challenge will consist of the most “Sonic” of trials: Collect as many Rings as you can to stay alive!
Our more veteran legends will be familiar with our Collector Mode, but the goal is simple. As you race through the track, you’ll find familiar Gold Rings scattered along the road. Your goal is to collect as many as you can before the timer ends.
Don’t worry though! Each Ring you collect will add precious seconds to your timer, and the higher your car’s rank is, the more seconds you’ll be able to earn!
Collect as many Rings and make it as far as you can to complete challenges and earn rewards! Also each stage’s record will add to your total ring count, allowing you to unlock the next stages!
Challenge Stages
Thought you had it easy? Think again! We didn’t include the almighty Sonic & Crew just for show.
In-between Ring Collection Stages, you’ll have to challenge Sonic and his friends directly on the track!
But don’t underestimate them. They’re known for running through loops and saving the world but they’re pretty handy behind the wheel as well, and feel right at home on the track.
So, if you’re feeling fast enough , rise to the challenge and beat their times to complete event challenges and earn further rewards!
The Final Twist
We warned you we had a final trick in our bag! As the only way to succeed is by going fast, we’re bringing back our Speeders for the event! For the uninitiated, Speeders are specific highlighted areas you’ll encounter on the track.
Race over them and your car will get an immediate boost in acceleration, launching you towards the front of the race. If these don’t help you catch up to the fastest beings on the planet, then nothing will.
Spotlight Pass & Shop
For the first time this season, we’re also introducing the new Spotlight Pass!
A brand-new pass that will help you maximize your rewards during the entire event. It will feature both a Free and Premium track, jam packed with extra rewards that you’ll be able to claim by reaching milestones as you play the event.
Unlocking milestones will grant you rewards such as extra Spotlight currency, Blueprints for the featured cars, and Sonic Event Decals.
And as in all our Spotlight Events, we’ll have a dedicated Spotlight Store for you to spend your hard-earned Spotlight Currency and choose which rewards you desire. You’ll be able to find not only Blueprints for the featured cars, but also Upgrade and Epic Import Parts to help improve them further.
And now that you’re up to speed with everything you can expect during Sonic’s grand debut, there’s only one thing left to do... GOTTA GO FAST!
