Welcome, Spotters! 👋

Before we jump into the updates, a quick note. Yes, we know - we’ve been a little quiet lately. We didn’t disappear, get abducted by aliens, or fall into a bottomless bunker. We’re a handful of sleepless devs, and the past few weeks were spent deep in development mode. Now we’re back, full of news, and excited to reconnect and show you what we’ve been cooking behind the scenes.

For those of you who are visiting our corner for the first time, here's a little recap on what The Spotter: Dig or Die is all about:

You are a Spotter, and your mission is to hold the line against hordes of mutants breaking out of the ruins of the post-apocalyptic city of Las Veganos, while you await a crucial message from the President himself. However, a massive sandstorm destroys your rusty gas station base and knocks out the only communications receiver. You lose your last connection with other survivors, and now everything depends on whether you can restore it in time. Dig by day, fight by night, and bring the signal back before humanity’s last hope is lost.

We’re continuing to actively work on both the Demo and the full version of the game, and we want to share a few fresh updates and new features that are already in the game or are in their final stages of implementation.

Dynamic Weather

The mutants hate rain. Humans, in general, do too - but not the Spotters. Thunderstorms scare the mutants away, and that's when it's your time to dig, upgrade the base, and prepare for the next wave of madness! Weather now directly affects the game’s pace and strategy.

New Secret Locations Underground

The underground world is more than just dirt and junk. Hidden bunkers, secret rooms, tunnels, and other locations - both large and small. Some contain rare artifacts and valuable resources, and some require some thinking to reach inside!

Muscle Car

Mutants - beware! Our spotter can now repair his own ride and smash everything on his path. Once the car is repaired, take control and smash hordes of mutants in pure, chaotic mayhem.

UFO

Attention! An anomaly detected! Ever watched The X-Files? Looks like Mulder is already on his way. An alien spacecraft has been spotted over the desert - and it’s definitely up to something sneaky.

Underground Dangers

Underground, it’s not just old-world relics waiting for you, but some very nasty surprises left behind after the apocalypse. One wrong move - and that’s it. So maybe think twice before enthusiastically whacking every suspicious piece of metal with your shovel.

Grandpa's Hunting Rifle

Rumor has it there’s a hunting rifle hidden somewhere underground - left behind by the old gas station owner. If you manage to find it, it's all yours!

Arcade Mini-Game

We all know the classic Doom. The Spotter loves it too - so much that one day he fixed the old gas station arcade machine. In his free time, he doesn’t mind relaxing by blasting some mutants in old-school style.

Drone Mayhem

Controlling drones has never been this fun. Especially kamikaze drones. You fly - and you explode. Simple. Effective. Beautiful.

What’s Next?

As we get closer to the demo release, we’ll definitely share the launch date both here on Steam and in our Discord community.

Thank you for your interest in The Spotter: Dig or Die ❤️ We’re doing everything we can to make the game as enjoyable as possible for you. There’s plenty more ahead - so stay with us!
