BIG update incoming! First thing you’ll notice is new art for a new title screen and team selection menu. And who are those mysterious figures in the doorway? Guess we’ll have to wait for the full game to find out…
Trick-taking gameplay also got an overhaul. The background, character interactions, and passive ability icons all got updated. I also made some changes to actually playing tricks, that should make winning tricks feel more impactful AND more approachable (especially for players unfamiliar with traditional trick-taking games).
Part of what makes winning tricks feel more impactful are updated sound effects. If you manage to score multiple points per trick, you’ll hear some percussive and jazzy new sounds!
…and a bunch of other changes. In no particular order:
Shop. Added animations for buying cards in the shop
Round Complete Screen. Added animations.
Tutorial. Updated tutorial text.
Special Cards. Updated descriptions for a bunch of cards.
Save Indicator. Shows when the game saves between rounds.
We're excited to announce that Overtrick will now be published by 2 Left Thumbs, an indie game micro-publisher, entirely owned and operate by one guy (hi, that's me!)
Known for other roguelikes and deckbuilder like Rack and Slay, Dice A Million, and Die For The Lich - it felt like a natural fit with the label. And we've had a very productive few months, bouncing ideas around and applying that to the latest build of the game.
