Hey everyone! With Mythscroll's demo now live, I'm hard at work polishing, expanding, and preparing for the full release on August 12th. Here's what you can expect in the coming months:
I'm planning a demo update in June to add more mechanical depth and player guidance, while giving you a better feel for the full game's systems. No exact date just yet, but here’s what’s on the way:
The food sold at inns and taverns will temporarily boost/alter your stats.
Speed and weapon speed will have a more noticeable impact. Expect more missed attacks from slower enemies, and maybe even a chance to strike twice if you're fast enough!
A light tutorial is coming to ease new players in and explain core mechanics without getting in the way of exploration.
I'm adding additional environmental and creature encounters to make exploration more dynamic and surprising.
The demo will include a few early quests and job board jobs to introduce task-based progression.
The full version of Mythscroll is set to release on August 12th and will massively expand the world, systems, and possibilities. Here's a peek at what's coming:
A couple of new monster types will join the pool. Consider joining the Discord for the opportunity to participate in polls to decide what creatures get added.
Diverse and region-specific events will make every journey feel unique, with expanded use of skills and branching outcomes.
From narrative-rich quests to quick job board contracts, you'll have no shortage of tasks to take on.
Healing spells and unique utility or support abilities will add variety to your magic options beyond just damage-dealing.
Additional sound effects will bring the world and combat to life more vividly.
Creatures will respond more intelligently to your morality. Some may flee if you're too powerful, or if you've earned a ruthless reputation.
In-game achievements to track your progress and reward exploration, experimentation, and mastery.
A growing in-game reference filled with useful information about the world, creatures, and regions of Mythscroll. The compendium expands as you explore and encounter new places, people, and monsters.
Once you've fully explored the world, fast travel will become available to make backtracking easier.
I'm super excited about what’s ahead and can’t wait to share more as development continues. Thanks so much for playing, testing, and supporting Mythscroll. Feel free to drop feedback, bug reports, or just say hi in Seedborne’s Workshop on Discord!
