Dev Update - Unit Graphics

Whilst real life has tried its best to get in the way of development the past couple of week, there is some news to share.

First up, I have managed to licence some frankly glorious illustrations for the unit portrait images for all the armoured vehicles in the game. Infantry units will have to make do with unit counters or NATO style symbols, at least for now but as you can tell from the new screenshots on the store page these really add something.

Second, as well as a wide range of scenarios I have been working on a campaign system for short campaigns for a number of nations. The first UK campaign starts with a small mission using just a Company plus some Recce support, a choice of second mission depending on which reinforcements you choose and a third mission with your whole Mechanised Infantry Battalion plus a little Armour Support. I expect this campaign to have 4-5 missions and to be the template for future campaigns. My Main focus remains on interesting Scenarios.

On top of that some tinkering under the hood optimising the code so the game isn't doing crazy numbers of hex math calculations each frame has netted some serious improvements in performance.

That's all for now, stay tuned for more.

Chris.
