Improved Taskbar and Window Sitting

We are currently rewriting the sitting mechanics for taskbar and window sitting. This update will allow avatars to sit on windows and the taskbar in a more natural and visually appealing way. It uses special layering methods so that legs appear in front of a window while hair and other parts render behind it, creating a more realistic look.

Developing this feature is challenging, as MateEngine is designed to stay lightweight and highly performant. While we cannot guarantee its final inclusion, we want to share what might be possible in the future. Our goal is to make it work for all custom models created by the community.

The hardest part is ensuring compatibility with custom VRM and ME avatars, since their size and bone structures vary. We are actively researching solutions to address this remaining issue. In the meantime, we will continue delivering quality updates for MateEngine and hope to bring this feature to life soon.Another example: (Please ignore the grey box it is there for debugging)

You may think, “Oh, there hasn’t been an update for a month.” Sometimes we humans need a vacation and a break from certain things in life, and that’s exactly what I did. The break is over, and I’ll soon be working on updates that mainly focus on fixing reported bugs. After those smaller bug-fix updates, I’ll introduce two new features I’ve been working on secretly in the ba…
