Hello anomaly hunters!
To celebrate the announcement of CAPTURED 2, CAPTURED is getting a new content update. It includes a new game mode, a new entity, a leaderboard and more, so let's dive right in!
I was looking into more creative ways to make anomaly games more challenging that did not involve harder to find anomalies. The Insanity game mode spins the genre on its head, adding a unique roguelike twist to your anomaly hunting experience.
You can capture anomalies infinitely, and every 3 loops you are offered deals with special perks and advantages, each coming with a drawback. These deals are randomly generated, making each run unique and exciting.
Your max sanity starts the same as in Hard difficulty, but each time you complete a loop it gets increasingly smaller.
Use your luck wisely and make the right decisions to increase your stats and dominate the loops.
You can now compete for first place for the most captured anomalies!
Along with the new Insanity game mode comes a leaderboard which tracks the most anomalies captured in a single run.
All your Safe Mode, Normal, Hard and Nightmare runs qualify, but the Insanity mode will allow you to achieve scores way beyond the limits of the other modes.
Another possessed toy from Jason's childhood joins the loops!
Dr. Spider can only be encountered in higher difficulties (Hard, Nightmare and Insanity mode).
Since you are not equipped with any weapons, doors in CAPTURED are a very important mechanic that players have to master in order to survive against some of the loop's entities.
However, some players have expressed how they found the door physics mechanic hard to use and that it took away from their experience.
If you are struggling with doors, you can now enable EASY DOORS in the GAMEPLAY SETTINGS tab.
This new difficulty option allows players to open and close doors with a single interaction key.
While CAPTURED embraces exploration, it can be very hard to do so with low sanity.
Now, when you enter large deformed rooms, your sanity will stop decreasing, allowing you to explore and look for the missing dolls.
Small deformed rooms that do not contain dolls will continue to drain your sanity.
Thank you everyone for sharing your love for CAPTURED and your beautiful feedback.
This is my very first game and it means the world to me that I am able to turn it into a series.
I can't wait to share more about CAPTURED 2, so if you haven't already, Wishlist it on Steam.
Thank you,
Puck
