Golems, Yetis, Treants And Some Other Treats

Hey everyone,

Since the last blog, we’ve rolled out a series of updates adding new leaders, adding a much-requested feature to multiplayer, and continuing to adjust balance and fix bugs. This recap covers the biggest additions and changes from the past few updates.

New Leaders

First up is the Sunstone Sniper, a sharpshooter with friendly rocks for support.

Win ranged duels with the help of golems, heavy, stone-bodied constructs that shrug off arrows with ease. They have a natural resistance to ranged attacks and very high armor on top of that, though their lower health means they are more vulnerable when enemies get up close. No matter the terrain or the weight they carry, golems keep moving at a steady pace, making them reliable even in difficult conditions. Armed with ice javelins that strike with heavy impact and slow their targets, they excel at controlling the flow of battle from a distance.

Leading the force is the Golem Boss, a towering unit wielding a massive crossbow that fires two heavy projectiles at once, dealing devastating single-target damage while boosting the attack speed of allies nearby. For a more nature-based approach, you might wanna go for the Glacier Goliath, with his yetis and treants!

Yetis thrive in snowy environments, moving swiftly across frozen terrain and slipping past attacks with surprising agility on frozen terrain. Alongside them are Treants, tree-like beings that form the backbone of this army. They are sturdy and resilient, striking slowly but with tremendous force, while also generating extra value from harvesting resources and recovering health more quickly than most units. Treants can be recruited directly or even summoned from trees, giving you flexible ways to grow your forces as you expand.

Both Yetis and Treants come with a clear weakness, as they take increased damage from fire. This change also extends to several other unit types, making fire a more meaningful threat across the board. You may also encounter these units in the wild, adding more variety and new challenges to your runs.

Send Resources in Multiplayer

Feeling charitable? You can now send resources to other players in multiplayer.

If the game mode allows it, you’ll find a “Send Resources” button under your resource list during a match. This opens up new ways to cooperate, support your allies, and coordinate strategies as a team. The statistics menu has also been updated to show how much you’ve received from other players, making it easier to track your shared efforts.

Two new spell casters and tech upgrades

Numerous leaders, including the Glacier Goliath, can cast two new beneficial spells. Frenzy increases attack and movement speed of your units and Water-Cell reduces fire damage taken and adds some armor on top of that.

The new fire resistance technology upgrade protects all your units and buildings from fire, which is useful for either reducing the flammability of your tree-folk or improving the odds when facing dragons and like. The melee evasion technology gives your melee fighters a chance to completely avoid an incoming attack.

More Updates

This update also includes a range of smaller additions and improvements. Golem biomes have been expanded, bringing new variations and enemies into the world, and Pick from 3 rewards have been adjusted to remove options that were too situational.

As always, we’ve also made a number of fixes, balance changes, and UI improvements to keep things running smoothly. For the full details, be sure to check out the patch notes on the Steam Discussions board.

Thank you again for your continued support. We’re excited to see how you make use of these new leaders and features. We’re still reading everything you share, and we’ll be posting frequent patch notes over on the Steam Discussions board to keep you in the loop.

See you among the circles,

Luminous
