Patch Notes

  • (1) Added more checkpoints in the Manor Grounds and Human Base.
  • (2) Once completed, hacking mini-games no longer have to be repeated.
  • (3) Searchlights slow down before changing directions.

    (1)
After looking over some feedback, I decided that to make the game less frustrating, I would add an additional checkpoint in the manor grounds and human base. This means getting caught by searchlights and lasers in these areas, will no longer be as punishing.

    (2)
Getting caught at the start of the game would result in the player respawning in "Goose Jail". To get out, the player would have to play a hacking mini-game. Getting caught multiple times would mean the player would have to keep replaying these mini-games, which felt frustrating and tedious. To fix this, the player no longer has to replay these hacking mini-games, once they have already been beaten.

    (3)
Through watching other people play the game, I found out that most people would get caught by searchlights when they suddenly changed direction. the player would often release the hide button when safe, only to have the searchlight suddenly change direction, resulting in them getting caught. This was bad game design, as there was no visual indication that the searchlights would change direction.

To fix this problem, searchlights now slow down before changing direction. This should make getting caught more fair, and remove a lot of the games frustration.

Hopefully this patch helps improve the game.

    - Joseph
