Hey everyone! It's been quite the week hasn't it? We announced Super Yooka-Laylee Kart at Summer Games Fest as part of Day of the Dev's, and we've seen the incredible amount of love and support from our community since then. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has wishlisted and shown support for the game over the last week, you're truly incredible. We have a few updates since the announcement that we'd like to share with y'all,
We announced Super Yooka-Laylee Kart last Friday, but that was only just the beginning! Yooka and friends spent the weekend with the press as part of the play days event for some karting chaos, and suffice to say, people really enjoyed what they played of Super Yooka-Laylee Kart (special thanks to our Playtonic friend, Mark Boam, for manning the booth the entire time). Here's a couple of photos from our booth, and yes, that's two players that picked Laylee; y'all seem to really love her. Yooka, Laylee, Vendi and Trowzer traveled to the event to compete, though rest assured, more characters from the Yooniverse will be available to play soon!
You may have also noticed that Yooka and friends have made their faces known with other players and press who had some nice things to share on Super Yooka-Laylee Kart as well during the event.
We gave AntDude early access to the game, and he had some nice things to say on it!
Polygon gave their early impressions, even giving positive comparisons to a moustachioed plumber that loves to race as well.
Kotaku had very nice things to say, and felt our game was AWESOME!!!
IGN said we'd come out like a bat out of shell.
Gamespot said we recall the glory days of racing.
We're just so excited to share more when we have it, and we'll be sure to post here!
The team at Playtonic are still working hard on the game as we speak, and we'd love to know what else you guys are looking forward to seeing, whether it be new characters, tracks, music, the list goes on and on!Feel free to drop a comment and let us know what else you're looking forward to seeing.
