Ghost Exile - The Beginning of the End

Hello hunters! The boundary between our world and what hides on the other side has become thinner.

Darkness no longer just waits in the corners. It learns. It adapts. It breaks the familiar rules and makes even experienced hunters doubt every step.

This update opens a new chapter for - "Apocalypse". You can expect a reworked Insane difficulty, progression for additional content, a new modular tutorial, lobby updates, a new map, and much more.

A Insane is someone who is not afraid of death.

The "Insane" difficulty has received not only visual changes, but also a major gameplay rework.

Now it is no longer just about higher risks and a more aggressive ghost. This is a mode where familiar tools begin to fail, protective items require more attention, and many old habits can cost you your life.

Tool

Changes

Candle

The candle now burns out faster. You will need to use it more carefully, and only where it is truly needed.

Crucifix

The crucifix no longer stops a hunt instantly. When activated, it creates a force barrier that slows the ghost down, while the hunt fully ends a few seconds later.

Directional microphone

The directional microphone can malfunction. Its readings can no longer be considered fully stable.

EMF

EMF signals now have a center. To get the maximum possible reading, you don’t just need to detect activity — you must find its exact location.

Energy drink

It has become more dangerous with frequent use. If you drink more than one energy drink, your base stamina is reduced by 15%.

Incense

Incense no longer activates instantly. You now need to hold the button, wait for it to fully burn, and only then will the effect take place.

Notebook

The notebook now only works in the ghost’s favorite room.

PEK

The PEK signal is now mobile. It can shift, making it harder to find the correct spot and requiring more attention.

Photo camera

The photo camera now has a limit of 3 charges.

Pills

Pills no longer restore sanity instantly. Sanity is now restored gradually over 60 seconds.

Radio

There is no longer a direct notification showing that a ghost response has been received. You will need to listen more carefully and determine on your own whether contact has been made.

Spray Paint

The paint spray can now has 3 charges.

Temperature

Negative temperatures can now appear everywhere until the boiler is turned on.

Video Camera

The video camera may occasionally malfunction. Expect interference and unstable operation.

Voice recorder

On “Apocalypse” difficulty, voice recorder icons are no longer displayed.

Urn

The incense urn now works slower and restores less sanity.

Additional content progression

We continue to develop additional content and make it more detailed and refined. In the future, some mechanics related to additional content will have upgrade levels. The higher the level, the more dangerous and difficult encounters with the supernatural will become - but the rewards will also match the risk.

Shadow world

The Shadow World now has a level system. Play with the Shadow World enabled to increase your additional content level and unlock new challenges.

Level 1

At level 1, the Shadow World works as you are used to.

Level 2

Shadows become more dangerous. They leave behind darkness that slows hunters, and also introduce a new mystery.

Level 3

It unlocks a new variant of the Shadow World. This is not just a difficulty increase of a familiar mechanic, but a deeper and more dangerous immersion into a space where old rules no longer apply.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Most of the additional content will, in the future, gain a level system.

New modular tutorial

A new tutorial has been added to the game. It is now modular, allowing players to better understand individual mechanics instead of receiving all the information as one large block. This should help newcomers learn the basics faster, while experienced players can refresh their knowledge on specific topics.

At the moment, only a few modules have been added, covering the basics from interaction to exorcism. In future updates, new detailed modules will be added for every aspect of the game.

The place where it all began...

Once a sealed M.O.S.F.M. laboratory. The place where the door between worlds was opened, and the people who worked there brought a terrible threat upon our world.

But the laboratory is not simply abandoned. Something inside is still waiting. Something remembers everyone who opened that door.

Updated lobbies — the final touches before...

A new visual style (this time final) for the lobbies has been added to the game, and it is not just a cosmetic change — it is a sign of upcoming customization. Customization of rooms and some lobbies in full.

We plan to make it as free as possible. You will be able to decide what goes where and how, to make your own space as unique as possible.

Motel

Bunker

Cabin

Once available only to a select few, it is now open to everyone. The legendary hunter Bobby left it to our organization after his death.

We are also preparing a Supporter Pack, which will include additional lobby customization items, new visual styles for the character and the rover. For those who would like to support the development of the game.

Updated appearance

As we mentioned in the dev blog, the elderly male ghost models have been reworked.

And the new energy drink model has also been updated.
