Family is always a sensitive topic, but when a loved one goes missing, everything changes, leaving you with a scar too deep to ignore and a world you don’t recognize anymore.
For her family, Anna leaves everything behind, bidding farewell to the life she had built for herself in America and that we had talked about in one of our first devlogs. Both her brother and Grandpa have gone missing, leaving Anna with nothing but a heavy hollow in her chest, a farewell letter, and a mysterious talking Crow.
Though the Crow seems unwilling to tell Anna the whole story, she’s determined to get her family back and has no choice but to trust it, as it might be the only way to reach her goal.
Without her Grandpa, the archipelago feels different. There was a time when Anna spent her childhood summers there with him, but for some reason, the memories appear faded as if they were a dream. Even so, Anna clearly remembers his stories as a shaman. But is that all?
Without him, the world as we know it and the one from the myths are now merging, creating an unsettling imbalance. Portals appear around the island, enscribed with the same glyphs on Anna's bracelet, an old, cherished gift given to her by Grandpa.
More islands appear around the archipelago, and they are filled with creatures made of wood and stone, as if straight from the Kalevala. Some creatures will gladly help Anna rebuild the borders of the worlds, while others... let’s just say they won’t be as considerate.
