My goal with Cochonnet is to create a casual and enjoyable multiplayer experience. I am planning to release the 1.0 version of the game at best around April 2026 with a price tag of 7,99$, please be aware that this is a one person project.
Here is what to expect for the game at release on top of what is already available in the demo:
Custom local matches with local multiplayer and bots
Option to create non-Steam P2P lobbies using IP addresses
Steam lobby browser
More lobby privacy settings (Hiding join code / Friends only)
A lot more match settings
Ambient sounds / Music / More sound effects
A Twitch streamer mode with a single bot controlled via the Twitch chat.
Emotes
More lobby mini-games and activities (and a working basketball hoop)
More achievements
New maps
New terrains
Multiple custom boules
Boule editor color picker
Hand customisation (color / accessories)
A solo campaign
VR support
Joining as spectator during matches
Arcade game modes
Game chat / Voice chat
Hand skins
Wear / Roughness / Rust customisation for the boule
Accessibility features
Controller support
Competitive multiplayer: It would require dedicated servers as P2P makes it too easy to cheat, a matchmaking system, moderation tools to ban players and some form of player rating, all of which is out of my current capabilities.
Console version: The game is only available on Steam and relies on Steam P2P networking for the seamless multiplayer experience. I don’t have any plans to export the game to console yet and I don’t know how reliable the controller support will be.
