1,500 Wishlists in 1 Week!

Hello everyone!

We wanted to drop in and give a massive thank you to everyone who has shown interest in Coal Duty so far. To be honest, we’re absolutely floored; hitting 1,500 wishlists in our first week is a dream come true for our team.

Since we’re still riding this high, we figured it was the perfect time to share some details about ourselves and who is behind the scenes!

Who are we?

We are a small indie crew of five friends working hard to bring this dystopian, coal-dusted nightmare to life. Just like you, we are massive fans of co-op horror. We love the tension, the proximity chat chaos, and the "joy" of surviving a terrifying shift with friends. We're building the kind of game we actually want to play, and it's incredible to see so many of you are looking for that same experience.

We want to build this alongside you

We’re currently heads-down in development, but we’d love to have you along for the ride as we build this thing.

We’ll be sharing:

  • Dev Logs: Sneak peeks at the different biomes we’re creating, upcoming gameplay features, and the creatures lurking in the dark.

  • Feature Polls: You get to help us decide on certain mechanics, items, and additions!

Join the Union If you want to chat with us directly, suggest features, or find teammates for future playtests, come say hi on our Discord!

Thank you again for the support. It means the world to us. See you in the mines!

Community15 Sep 2026New Partnership, and the Demo is ComingHello miners, Two things today, and we've been sitting on both of them for a while... We've partnered with indie.io! We're teaming up with indie.io , who are going to help us get this game in front of a lot more people than five of us could manage on our own. We want to be clear about what this changes for you: nothing about the game. Same team, same mines, same questionable safety standards. W…Community25 Jun 2026Playtest, 20,000 Wishlists and What's Been Going OnHello miners, It’s been a while since we last spoke. We’ve been deep in development, and as you may have heard, we’ve started distributing playtest access. There are currently more than 5,000 playtest requests waiting, so don't worry if you haven’t received access yet, we plan to keep running playtest waves all the way up to our demo launch. We’ve received a lot of valuable feedback during the…In-game event5 Jun 2026Playtest is LIVE!Coal Duty Playtest is live on Steam! (The sun is still gone. We also don’t know why…) In this build, you can test the core gameplay loop: go down the mine, work, try to meet the quota, repeat. We opened early access because we’re tired of breaking the game alone so you can join in too. You can request Playtest access on our Steam page. Have fun!
