Release Date: Thursday, January 29th, 10AM UTC | 11AM CET

Highlights

  • Adjustments to the prices of many goods

  • Increased likeliness and intensity of Major Incidents

  • Fixed issue related to global religion buffs

  • Fixed several causes for crashes and desyncs

Balancing

  • The base prices of many goods were adjusted (mostly increased), resulting in higher buying and selling prices

    • Consumption was accordingly also very slightly decreased for some goods

  • Difficult and aggressive rivals are now more likely to declare war on the player

    • We have adjusted multiple behaviour reasons to make it more likely for rivals to start wars, including the smaller feuds

    • Specifically Neferneru and Concordia are now also more likely to ally against the player

    • The intention is to provide more challenge for players seeking it

  • Major city incidents are more impactful

    • Increased number of rioters to be defeated (Riots), increased number of people to be evacuated (Fire), increased number of sick people to be picked up (Plague)

    • Additionally, taking any such actions (defeating rioters, etc.) reduces the incident by only 1min each now

  • Major incidents will happen more often

  • Increased the population threshold for city status changes in early game (level 3 + 4) to allow players to build wide for longer

Bug Fixes

General

  • Fixed various crashes, for example:

    • Fixed crashes related to moving or destroying aqueducts

    • Fixed an issue with the benchmark crashing for some players

    • Fixed occasional crashes during mod loading related to the use of options

  • Fixed some possible triggers for desyncs for example:

    • Fixed desyncs related to crossplay between PS5 and other platforms

  • Fixed an issue with global religion buffs not applying to newly settled or conquered islands

  • Fixed issues with certain keyboard shortcuts when using a keyboard on PS5

  • Fixed a visual issue with some palisade stakes

  • Fixed several visual issues with NPC portraits:

    • issues with Concordia’s headscarf

    • a visible renderline on Julia’s forehead

  • Fixed an issue with blueprinted aqueducts not always upgrading as expected

  • Fixed an issue with rivals not constructing anything on islands they took from other rivals or players

  • Fixed an issue where mouse clicks would occasionally not be registered

  • Fixed an issue that prevented land units from recovering when retreating, even if the recovery conditions were met

  • Fixed an issue with Voada’s ship being invisible during the “Scars of Conquest” quest.

UI

  • Added warning messages on start-up when the game lacks permission to save the game in the savegame folder

    • This is a Windows folder access problem, please refer to official Windows documentation on how to give applications writing access to specific folders

  • Fixed an issue with the buttons for goods in the Trading Post changing layout under rare circumstances

  • Fixed an issue in campaign where having both Festive Decorations and Vital Condiments on board of the ship would glitch our Julia’s dialogue boxes

  • Fixed an issue with the Xbox Gamertag not being displayed in some menus

  • Fixed an issue with the network status icon not appearing under certain conditions

  • Fixed an issue with notifications for diplomatic proposals would trigger and immediately disappear

  • Removed the exclamation markers from the incident values in the top bar

Quest, Campaign & Text

  • Fixed an issue with the “The Missing Shipment” quest remaining active after completion

  • Fixed an issue in the campaign that would result in the player not receiving a ship in Albion when sending multiple ships at the end of Part 1

  • Improved various parts of the localization, for example:

    • Fixed a spelling mistake in the Trading Pier help menu

    • Fixed some missing translations for the “Dominus Racing Stallions” quest
