This week, in our Boot Camp series, we will offer tips on defeating armored vehicles.
In World War 3, there are many ways to destroy vehicles. You can choose from gadgets, weapons, or strikes. We'll cover all of these, as well as potential counters that vehicles may have, so you can choose the best approach.
There are other ways you can help your team besides dealing damage. You can also use firearms to destroy vehicle optics and take out their Remote Control Weapons, or Active Protection Systems to distract the vehicle. You can mark a tank by tapping X once, or mark its general location by tapping X twice. This lets your team know where to look for it.
Gadgets are a cheap way to deal with vehicles. They do not increase the weight of the loadout or cost score. They are convenient tools for when you find yourself near a vehicle. The anti-tank mine can be placed as a trap, the anti-tank grenade is a simple way to deal a modest amount of damage, and effective C4 placement will terrorize tanks.
You can use the YTG, RPG, or PF3 to take down vehicles from a distance as infantry. In this order, they progressively deal more damage, but they come with extra disadvantages such as bigger weight, reload time, travel time, or projectile drop-off. Remember to hit vehicles in the rear for maximum damage.
Strikes are by far the most diverse way to fight armored vehicles in WW3. You can choose drones, guided missiles, bombing runs, or artillery. The Stormbreaker missile deals great damage, the Warmate is a cheap way to deal decent damage and also blind a tank. Anti-tank artillery concentrates lots of artillery shells in a small area very quickly. Bombing runs can punish immobile tanks with instant death for any tank caught in the drop zone. RAK artillery can deliver devastating blows to enemy vehicles.
Naturally, such a wide range of vehicle destruction tools means the vehicles need protection. Apart from armor, they have an APS that will protect a tank from a range of threats. They can only equip one at a time, letting you know what they’re vulnerable to. RCIED APS nullifies remote detonations, such as the warmate, anti-tank mines, and C4. Radar APS will hide a vehicle’s heat signature, hide it from being marked on the map, and redirect guided missiles. Hardkill APS will destroy projectiles such as the RPG and PF3.
Vehicles are not meant to be solo’d, but with proficiency, you will come very close. But an important aspect of destroying tanks is teamwork. Team up with a friend, a squadmate, or teammate, to use a combination of strikes, gadgets, and weapons to take down a tank, and it will be as easy as ABC.
