Finally, the day is here. The day when we finally unleash Trolls vs Vikings as a premium experience to y’all. To me personally it’s a bit of a dream come true, as the game is now, finally, made with a vision and complexity worthy of a hardcore gamer. Or, so we like to believe.
Over these last few weeks, we have been able to test the game in two demos weeks at Steam, and thankfully it seems well polished, stable and with an, ahem, appropriate difficulty curve. We got a lot of really nice feedback too, so hopefully that helps to get even more players enjoying it.
We have already lined up the three first patches for the game, and beyond that we promise to listen for any ideas, tweaks or updates you feel would make the game even better.
As you may understand the entire game is a tribute to our Norse and Norwegian heritage, our wild mythology and not the least the weird humour within it. As Norwegians, we grew up with tales of trolls, fierce Viking warriors, strange gods and epic battles. Indeed, some of us on the dev team lives in the Vik region (Vik-ing, is what you call that in Norwegian). So, this feels a bit like home, however weird home is!
That we now get to bring that to the world, and mix it with some fine-tuned strategy gameplay, is in our very own way a little tribute. On such a day I would also like to thank the fine devs here at Megapop who have poured their hearts into it, as well as NFI who supported us with funds to see the light shine on Midgard once again. And, not the least, all of you players who tested it during the demo weeks.
Oh, I almost forgot, Loki convinced us to have a special 15% launch sale, so for the first week of sales it dips a divinely 15% below the 5,99 SRP. Beyond that sale, we feel the price is hopefully a good one. It’s kinda hard to really set these things when you’re an indie developer like us, but there should be tons of content for that price.
