Hey everyone! ːsteamthumbsupː

Playtest #2 runs throughout February (Feb 1–Feb 28, 2026) and it’s a big step up from the first playtest.

What’s included?

  • Level 1 + the brand-new Level 2

  • All weapons + all scepters/staves unlocked
(intentionally, so we can properly test balance)

New since Playtest #1

  • A fully revamped UI (new buttons)

  • Full controller support (Xbox One) — including menus & UI

  • A brand-new in-game HUD (clearer, more readable)

  • New VFX for Sais and Magic/Scepters (more impact & feedback)

  • Updated physics & movement (snappier, punchier feel)

  • New/expanded skills: Shadow Sprint (Dash), Aiming, and more

Focus: Balancing & game feel

We’d love feedback on:

  • What feels too strong / too weak / unfair (weapons & scepters)

  • Controller feel (aiming, dash, UI navigation)

  • Combat readability (HUD/VFX) and overall feel

Feedback (Steam as the hub)

Please post feedback in the Obscura Community Hub → Discussions (pinned threads):

  • [EN] Feedback & Bug Reports: BUG REPORT

  • [EN] 2-Minute Survey (10 Questions) - (Clips/screenshots are super helpful!): SURVEY

Several parts of Obscura: A Sleep Worth Dying For have been substantially reworked based on player feedback. We're not only listening to what testers tell us — we're also watching where players hesitate, misunderstand something or encounter a mechanic that…Major update27 Aug 2026The Dream Has Changed — Major Playtest Update 0.7.8aThe dream has changed. For the past few weeks, I’ve been tearing into Obscura: A Sleep Worth Dying For piece by piece. Some systems had been with the game almost since the beginning. Others worked — but simply didn’t feel as good as they should. So instead of putting another coat of paint on them… I rebuilt them. And after many very late nights, a ridiculous amount of testing, tweaking, breakin…Community18 Aug 2026The Nightmare Stirs Again – Development UpdateThe Nightmare Stirs Again Things have been a little quiet around Obscura: A Sleep Worth Dying For for a while. Over the past few weeks, however, I've returned to the nightmare with my full attention – and instead of simply adding more rooms and enemies, I decided to focus first on something that affects the entire game: How Obscura feels to play. Movement, collisions, traversal, and many of the…
