Goblins! 👋
We've just released the Runed It! Update, bringing new magical additions, cosmetic items, bug fixes, and more to Goblin Cleanup. Its main new feature is the Runes System, offering 15 unlockable Runes, each granting your Goblin with unique effects!
Alongside this, we've implemented new additions based on your feedback, including a Customisation Presets system, new Cosmetics designed by our Kickstarter backers, and the well-anticipated mimic customisation! And of course, with every update we do, we tidy the dungeons up by fixing bugs reported by you! 💚

Fixed an issue where cleaning the dungeons for a long period of time would cause a crash.
Fixed multiple instances of Experience Points (EXP) not being rewarded correctly.
Fixed some issues with items not being highlighted properly.
Fixed various collision issues across multiple levels.
Fixed various cosmetic colour changes, which would not save and apply as intended.
Fixed an issue where loading certain levels wouldn't restore as intended.
Fixed an issue where slimes would fall through the world if you dropped as a male Goblin.
Fixed an issue where a vase would not restore in The Kitchen level.
Fixed certain level challenges not unlocking as intended and made improvements to some unlock requirements to make them clearer.
Fixed a rare issue around loading out of bounds.
Fixed an issue when loading into a level, where levers would not be usable.
Fixed an issue with throwing fire slimes at lava, which could cause Goblins to become unresponsive.
Fixed explosions with the Lava Bomb Sentinels not behaving as expected.
Fixed multiple issues with the UI not responding to mouse, keyboard, or controller inputs.
Fixed navigation issues with the Cosmetics UI.
Fixed some desync issues with books and the Carnivorous plant.
Fixed sound effect issues on The Forge level and The Volcano level.
Fixed minor clipping and texture issues across various cosmetic options.
Fixed various typos.
The Runes System is the largest addition in the Runed! It Update! To unlock Runes, complete levels with at least a 50% objective completion. You will unlock one Rune per level completed ✅
1️⃣ For 50% level completion, one reward option will be offered to you.
2️⃣ For 75% level completion, two reward options will be offered to you.
3️⃣ For 100% level completion, three reward options will be offered to you.
Once you've unlocked a Rune, head to the new window in the Hub Area to equip it for the next level!
All Runes have a five-level durability, which decreases by one each time you finish a level with the Rune equipped. You can have up to three Runes equipped at one time, making for some awesome combos!
Each of the 15 Runes has varied effects and stats, some with both positive and negative stat effects. You'll have to select Runes based on the level you are cleaning, if you're cleaning solo or in a Goblin squad, and sometimes... based on your skill level of certain tasks you'll perform (goblin maid skill issue).
Later in the week, we'll have a full list of all the unlockable Runes and their effects, but in the meantime, we're excited for you to explore these effect modifiers! The Goblins (customisations) are SAVED! 🌟 We've seen your feedback around saving your Goblin customisation creations, and we're very excited that Customisation Presets are now a feature of Goblin Cleanup!
In the customisation menu, you'll be able to cycle through three saved Presets via the A, B, and C buttons in the top right corner of the menu. No more customisation masterpieces will need to be reset! This new feature allows you to effortlessly store and switch between your favourite Goblin customisation designs and design new Goblins without losing your current Goblin Maid character.
Another new addition to our update is Mimic Customisation, accessed through the customisation menu. Design the colours of the starter, or head to the shop window to unlock two new Mimic designs via tickets! As always, unlock tickets by completing levels of our chaotic cleaning-sim game.
We've also implemented Mimic Customisation Presets, so you can save your favourite Mimic designs and toggle between them for ease. We cannot wait to see what Mimic Creations you will make! 🧑🎨
In case you missed it, we recently updated our 2026 Roadmap, splitting our Spring content into two updates: the Runed It! Update and the Boss Update.
The Boss Update is coming soon and will bring a new Boss Level to the game! Level 12 will be the final level to complete Dungeon 1. After the Boss update, we're excited to bring you frequent updates in every season, across our period of Steam Early Access this year!
