Game Development: Onion Marker

We've been developing, and here's what's new.

New Implementations
-----------------------

  • Added "White Onion", a plant, and a variety of onion, complete with another variant of crying onion.
  • Added "Millet Beer", beer brewed from malted Millet Seeds.
  • Added the ability for (your, client local) map marker flags to also be displayed as in-world objects, by checking a box in their map gui. You can also now place the map markers in the normal game viewport. Felt this could be useful e.g. when planning base layouts and such. The placement mode could improve. Currently using a version of the land survey flag.

Key Fixes
-----------------------

  • Fixed the bug by which, if carrying a sled or corcacle on the "Shoulders" equipment slot, capes would spazz out a bit. The fix is a general fix for the problem that certain animations have not combine with certain other animations, e.g. chopping wood while on a horse.
  • Fixed the bug by which animation sound and FX tracks would be split off to leg animations only, causing you to e.g. not play butchering sounds when butchering an animal while sitting on a horse (since that uses another leg animation/pose). We now have support for splitting them explicitly to particular groups, or, by default, including them in all animation split groups.
  • Shift-Transfers should now always find a transfer target inventory/widget in order of last focused inventory.

Small Fixes
-----------------------

  • Avatar cameras should now render outlines properly, visible on e.g. character selection screen.
  • Scaled animal animations normspeed settings should scale with them. TL;DR, e.g. walking animations should look better on scaled versions of animals, e.g. calves/cows.
  • Unified the size definitions for certain crop stockpiles, implying a consistent 60 units (also) for leeks, onions, grapes & lettuce.
  • Fixed the repair resource (hard metal) for "Coin Press"es in World 16.1. Reported here.

As always, if you liked what we did here: Support the patch.

Today's Patch Item, for the fair price of $7, is the "Paddle Steamer Captain's Hat".

$7

This hat has paddled the length and breadth of the wild Mississippi, and parts of the Gulf of Mexico. Toot-toot!

All Gold subscribers have been awarded the "Paddle Steamer Captain's Hat", free of charge.

In the Pipe
-----------------------

  • Our primary development direction is toward object-controlled-objects.

UPDATE YOUR CLIENTS

... or you may not hear animation sounds, and the chop trees animation may be borked, and a lot of the minor animation fixes here may not be there for you like I know you want and need them to be. xoxoxo <3

Enjoy!
