Golarion Goodies: New Cards in Munchkin Digital - Pathfinder

Munchkin Digital - Pathfinder is now available for Munchkin Digital as a standalone expansion, and it's packing a treasure trove of 168 new cards that'll make your inner munchkin cackle with glee! The Pathfinder RPG flavor is cranked up to eleven here, and in this preview, we'll spotlight some of the wild new cards, their sneaky abilities, and how this new Golarion gear can flip your digital games upside down!

Monstrous Mayhem: New Foes from Golarion's Underbelly

Let's kick things off with the baddies, featuring plenty of lovely little horrors straight from Pathfinder’s universe!

The Strix swoops in as a winged menace, punishing ground-bound munchkins by plucking their gear right off their heads. And if you’ve got a good weapon in your hands, you might just have to let it go when the Winter Witch shows up, chilling combats with her cold magic. Meanwhile, the Deathweb lurks in the shadows, weaving deadly traps. Its bad stuff? You are dead. No, really, just straight dead. And watch out for Treerazer, a demon lord-level threat whose bad stuff will have you dropping your Items — and even your levels — like they’re out of style!

Treasure Trove: Gear and Goodies with a Pathfinder Twist

Ah, the sweet loot — the reason we all put up with those backstabbing "friends." Pathfinder's haul dives into Golarion's arcane artifacts, potions, and gadgets for a fresh flavor.

Give yourself a helping hand with Tripelgangers, which summons two inferior duplicates to fight beside you if you don’t have a helper, because who needs friends anyway? Speaking of having no friends, the Cytillesh Potion will make a helper conveniently wander off, leaving your opponent high and dry in battle. Bye-bye! Another alchemical goodie, the Frostspore Potion, chills the battle with +4 to either side, but it nullifies all fire/flame items, turning those blazing weapons into useless duds for the fight.

Munchkin Digital - Pathfinder also has weapons galore! Some of these will give you special advantages against certain types of monsters, such as the T-Bone Stake against Undead, or the Pole Arm against Goblins. Others are just downright silly, such as Staff of the Slain, which cannot be used between 7 PM and 7 AM local time. Deadly weapons need their beauty sleep too, y’know!

There are, of course, other trinkets that are useful outside of combat. The Bell of Dismissal lets you ring out one monster back to the bottom of the Door deck, usable once for a clutch escape. Sun Orchid Elixir grants immunity to level loss from curses or bad stuff, both in and out of combat. Treerazers hate this one weird trick!

Curses and Traps: Afflictions Straight from the Sourcebooks

If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “I sure love Munchkin, but I wish there were more debilitating diseases in this game,” don’t worry, because Munchkin Digital - Pathfinder has you covered. Up the ante with curses inspired by Golarion's plagues, perils, and ailments!

Red Drip and Greenscale turn you into different colors of the rainbow with lovely afflictions that will have you dropping weapons, big items, and even levels! Alternatively, you could come down with Rapture Pox, crippling your ability to run away. Doesn’t Golarion sound just lovely?

Other curses and traps will alter the course of your adventure. Fail the Test of the Starstone will have you saying goodbye to your best item, and you certainly don’t want to Lose the Path, because this is a game about finding paths, y’know? But while we’re talking about losing things, Lose Your Faction and Lose Your Class do exactly what they sound like — time to make some edits to your character sheet!

Goblin Overload: The Swarm That Keeps on Giving

In our last preview, we noted how Goblins have a special attribute: you fight one, you fight ‘em all! In other words, Goblins can help other Goblins in combat straight from the hand without a Wandering Monster card, so single encounters can quickly turn into Goblin dogpiles (gobpiles?). You’ll find plenty of these little pests in Munchkin Digital - Pathfinder, along with additional cards relating to them.

The Slob Goblin is just an icky little guy, while Two Goblins packs double trouble in one card. The Shop Goblin is easy to run from, but won’t hesitate to trample over you otherwise to snag those sweet deals!

Want to make a Goblin fight even more miserable? Toss a Goblin Rash in there to boost their strength, or if you’re really feeling mean, a Gobblin', which doubles its bonus when applied to Goblins. Finally, you’ll really want to beware of ...With Gobs of Goblins, which can turn any monster into a Goblin, and trust us when we say you really don’t want Goblin Deathwebs wandering around.

Munchkin Digital - Pathfinder is Now Available!

And there we have it — that’s just a small taste of the new surprises waiting for you! Munchkin Digital - Pathfinder reshapes your munchkin meta by injecting all kinds of Golarion goodies into your deck, so whether you're a base veteran craving some new variety or a Pathfinder pro on the hunt for Easter eggs, this is an expansion you’ll definitely want to grab!
