Today we are excited to release part one of our Expedition updates, Journey in the Dark, which picks up Kharandar and gang’s story where we left off in the expansion: the expedition is ready to set out from Dum Garok and they are sending you ahead. Or, down below, to be exact, as the journey in the story’s continuation will take players underground first. We’ll also talk about the upcoming supporter pack, a Nintendo giveaway, and get into the patch notes.
We don’t want to give away much, but this new kind of environment has its own rules, locations, and associated perils, and it was a fantastic shift from the mountainous hellscape of the expansion. We hope you’ll like exploring it, though be mindful that it cuts off at a certain point, and the continuation will arrive at a later date. There’s so much more coming to round out this story, and we hope you will enjoy playing it as much as we are putting it together.
We are also hard at work on finishing the next supporter pack that was picked by you, the players. The pack is first and foremost a way to support the studio and the continued development of Vagrus, but in turn, owners receive unique cosmetics for all the Companions they have. The theme of this pack is “cultures”, that is, Companion looks are inspired by diverse cultures in the Riven Realms. Check out Nedir’s outfit, the first to be revealed from the new appearances.

Last but certainly not least, let’s delve into the patch notes. The most important element here is the addition of the chunky content, but the update comes with a variety of fixes and tweaks, as always.
Important Note: Considering the extent of the improvements, there is little to no chance that we broke nothing in the process. Assume that we did not want to make anyone's life harder. If you see something amiss, please flag it to us using the usual channels, like the inbuilt reporting tool (F1 button), forums, and our Discord server.

The subterranean realm was added to At the Heart of Ruin, accessible in the new questline, complete with new locations, encounters, foes, and friends
Companion cosmetics management UI was updated
QoL change: the Warehouse Goods withdrawal can no longer cause Cargo overflow
Chinese Language Mod created by amazing volunteers was added (due to mod.io being unavailable from China)
Fog of War was improved in various places
Fixed an issue with armored Gor’Goro’s portrait
Fixed a glitch that caused a softlock after going through the realmgate to Kadaath
Fixed an issue with the Chart’s zoom on high fps settings
Fixed an issue that prevented certain Companions’ Loyalty change be shown in the game log
Fixed an issue that caused Twilight levels not to cause their intended effects
Fixed issues with the reputation interactions of certain pirate crews
Abolitionist Faction reward tooltip updated to clarify why the faction rewards fall off when certain circumstances arise
Fixed some controller-related issues in Crew Combat
Fixed several issues with counter-strike type Skills across the board
Fixed an issue that caused translated texts not to display on the Story Pane
Fixed an issue that caused Rumor title translations not to appear
Fixed the replacement of many Chinese, Korean, and Japanese fonts in the texts, which results in translated texts to display properly
Many miscellaneous localization-related improvements (in Companion Combat, Character sheet, Settlement UI, Glossary, Journal, Price History, and Chart); it is still a work in progress, so let us know if you find anything
