Major Update: A Shift Toward Historical Authenticity

We’ve made one of the largest updates to the game since development began.

This update is a complete overhaul of items, weapons, and equipment, with a strong focus on historical authenticity.

What’s changed

Weapons

  • Swords now match their historical period in shape, length, hilt construction, presence of fullers, and intended use

  • One-handed and two-handed axes now have distinct proportions and combat logic
(including bearded axes such as Sceggox, Petersen type C axes, Danish axes, and others)

  • Spears and bows have also been revised

Shields

  • We accounted for real historical shield construction and added a realistic progression — from simple shields to a 9th-century jarl’s shield

    • plain wooden shields

    • wooden shields covered with leather

    • wooden shields with iron edge bindings

    • shields with iron reinforcing plates, and more

  • Different levels of boss (umbo) quality, where applicable

  • We even took into account shield painting and paint quality, based on what was historically available

Armor and Protection

  • A multi-tier armor system: from simple padded armor to leather protection, chainmail, and other variations

  • Helmets now progress logically — from simple leather and basic forms to more protective designs

Clothing and Footwear

  • Instead of generic boots, characters now wear period-accurate footwear with leg wraps, as was common at the time

  • Character clothing has become rougher, more grounded, and more authentic

Colors and Dyes

  • We paid special attention to colors and saturation levels that were actually available in the period

  • No bright, modern-looking colors — clothing now uses muted, natural tones, limited to dyes that truly existed in that era

At this point, we estimate the historical authenticity of equipment at around 70–80%.
The remaining 20–30% consists of deliberate artistic adjustments made for gameplay and visual clarity — such as smoother, more polished leather armor or slightly more visually striking axe blades.

Why we did this

Because we want the world to feel real.
We want weapons to look like they were truly meant for battle.
And we want armor to be more than just numbers — to tell the story of its time.

We’re now on the final stretch.
At last, we can create a proper trailer and begin preparing for release.

Thank you for staying with us.

While our marketing specialist has begun promotion work, we may still manage to prepare one more surprise before release — an expansion into another country that Vikings historically invaded in 844 AD.

Major update17 Feb 2026Release Date: May 14One Year Since the Demo A year ago we released the demo version of the game. Originally, we planned a short adventure — a landing in England, the choice of a side, and a compact story lasting a few hours. We expected a warm reception. But the metrics showed something more: the game had the potential to become a hit. At that moment it became clear — it couldn’t stay small.
