Holy moly pilots! Can you believe it has been one whole year since we started this amazing project. From the bottom of our hearts, we here at Smash Attack can't thank you all enough for the support we have received following the games inception. A lot of us came off a rough game launch from a previous release and needed to find new work. But through all that we came back together and created something we think is truly special!
It's been crazy to think that the game is only 12 months old and we have achieved so much as a team. From the way we work together to our pipelines of development, each day we feel more and more like a real studio coming together to make something we are truly proud of. When you compare what the game used to look like to now, the hard work of the art team is definitely on show. You see how the game runs and sounds and know that right there is Dave and Alec hard at work getting the game to where it needs to be.
Don't get us wrong, we got a bit of work to do as we head down but with support from our publisher (indie.io) and friends in the industry we know the road ahead is looking good!
The road we traveled has also been an exciting one! From Gamescom 2024 to the recent Frosty Games Fest, it has been a roller coaster of a ride filled with the many highs and lows of game dev. But for the most part it has been an excellent journey, especially our recent playtest which saw nearly 400 players sign up and participate and provide feedback.
Paired with an amazing guest appearance from guest writer Alanah Pearce, it has truly been awesome finally getting the game into as many hands as possible. And with grants from Screen Tas and Screen Aus we have been able to really put our all in.
So what's next? AVCon in Adelaide, South Australia! The team will be part of the Indie Games Room at the event which runs from July 5th to 6th. We will be there alongside many other amazing developers from around the country and look forward to our first convention in SA.
So that wraps it up for this month, we will have some more game focused updates in July as always but for now we just wanted to drop a quick update and more importantly a thank you for the past 12 months of support. Keep sharing the game, participate in the playtest and come say hi if you are ever at event where we are! Til next time!
