NEW DEMO UPDATE - 0.7!

Die For The Lich · published 7 Aug 2025, 15:47 UTC

Today, we're excited to release a new update to the demo!

If you've spent time with the previous version, you're in for a treat, we've added a lot of new content and made several improvements and fixes throughout.

If you’re not familiar with ‘Die for the Lich’ it is a roguelike dice deckbuilder. The mechanic of the game is simple, roll dice and try not to roll over the limit and of course kill as many mythical creatures as possible in the process.

Let’s DIvE into it.

New Weapons

You might not have unlocked them all yet, and we’re adding even more.

This time, we focused on weapons that apply buffs and debuffs to mix things up a bit and see how they impact your playstyle.

Dante’s UPDATE

If you haven’t been the biggest fan of Dante, we’ve got some good news, he’s undergone a major rework.

His starting ability has been completely redesigned to create a more distinct experience between the two playable characters.

But if you preferred the old Dante, let us know, we’re actively working with the community to make the best possible changes.

Blood Moon

This is another change that has been welcomed with open arms, the old Blood Moon was a bit too straightforward. The new blood moon brings more strategy to every dice and trinket rolled to keep you on your toes.

New Curses - Djinn

The Angel now offers two new curses: Unlucky Curse and Dice Bound Curse.

Curses also come with a new look, we removed the generic skull with an eye on his forehead design with one inspired by a Djinn, giving them a more fitting and mysterious vibe.

The Blood Blade

Originally intended as a hidden weapon for those willing to seek it out, the Blood Blade gradually lost its secretive charm and became a bit too easy to obtain.

With this update, we’ve reworked its function and price to better reflect its original, more elusive design.

Halo + Oracle Ability

Time to start killing more monsters on your way to Ankou because there’s a brand new ability in play, and the old Halo has been reworked.

The Oracle now offers a glimpse into the future with a new per-turn mechanic.

If you’ve been ignoring the Halo because it felt underwhelming, you might want to give it another shot… or keep ignoring it. Either way, it’s definitely more useful now.

Daily Runs UPDATE

If you’ve been battling for the top spot in the Daily Run or even claimed the crown for a day there’s good news for you!

We’ve improved the leaderboard, complete with a button to view yesterday’s scores, and you can now compete directly with your Steam friends.

We hope to see you at the top!

GL Compatibility

If the game is not running smoothly or you’ve not had the chance to play it because your computer is too slow, we may be able to fix that. With our new GL Compatibility option when you first run the game.

This was our way of fixing it, and it seems like it has worked for the few people that have reported having these problems.

We’ve also made a number of smaller changes and fixes, we’ll let you discover those for yourself.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s played, reviewed, and supported the game. It truly means a lot to see how much you're enjoying it, and we’ve loved seeing all the ideas and suggestions you’ve shared.

Enjoy the new update!
