One of the special missions we’re excited for you to try during Steam Next Fest is The Shaman’s Path! It highlights the active Shaman units in the game while bringing a mix of tactical choices—you can go full healing, full attack, or anything in between.
The original version of this mission popped up around 2015, focusing on beginner-level gameplay. Not so in the Reborn edition! We’ve cranked up the challenge with two more complex versions. (At least we think they're tough—we’ve played so much we might be a little blind to what’s actually difficult.)
This string of five missions revolves around Zap and Doc, two brothers who chose the Shaman path—calling on ancient Troll gods to channel power onto the battlefield.
Zap draws from the same lightning pool as Thor (the god, not our game designer Thor). He calls down lightning strikes but needs a bit of spiritual recharge time afterward. Timing those recharges is key—especially when support units vanish in harder levels!
Doc, on the other hand, followed his mother’s dream of him becoming a healer (moms, right?). His specialty? AOE healing through totems that keep your rocks and brutes alive (or anything else, for that matter). But at Brutal difficulty, no Trolls will block Vikings for you. You’ll need to heal yourself if you want to deal enough staff damage. Tricky? Yes. Fun? Absolutely (we hope)!
In this mission, we’ve also removed Hack the resource miner and spells, focusing entirely on unit-based tactics. Raw gameplay, no fluff. I love these types of missions myself, and hope you will enjoy them too!
