Resources in Chronocracy: what to dig, what to chew, what to smelt

Hello everyone!

The Chronocracy team keeps working away, and today we’ve got a new post for you about the resources in the game. What and how to gather so that your little folk don’t starve or freeze, and don’t fall prey to hostile neighbors or dangerous aliens.

At the start, you have access to basic resources: stone, wood, and food. That’s enough to get by and survive the dark times, while you haven’t yet taught your wards to extract more complex resources — let alone smelt one resource into another.

Once you research the right sciences, progress will take off in giant leaps (or tiny steps, since your babies’ legs are teeny-tiny), and you’ll be able to mine various useful minerals underground.

To do that, you’ll need to build a mine, train your residents to conduct geological surveys to search for minerals, and then actually start extracting them.

The underground is full of everything you might need for production — for example: diamonds, lead, copper. Some things are more common, some rarer. The rarest resources, such as rubies, lie very deep and are surrounded by scorching magma. Be careful when mining them — don’t accidentally roast your little ones! Shortages can be made up for at the market by buying the resource you need for gold.

The next stage is learning how to create resources.

You can do this in the smelter, at the chemical plant, the power station, and the collider. Just make sure you don’t accidentally create a black hole, or your civilization will meet its end faster than your tea can brew.

There’s also a special underground resource — metamaterial. This is a key resource for victory, hunted by every inhabitant of the planet… and beyond! There are legends about its unusual properties, but only one thing is known for sure: it’s needed for the final invention on which the survival of the entire civilization depends. In addition, this resource is required to create Titans, which we talked about in the previous post, so you’ll have to mine it, stockpile it, and spend it wisely (or unwisely, if you enjoy risk and adrenaline).

Add Chronocracy to your Wishlist, join our Discord where you can mine the freshest news about the game and its development — and sometimes memes we craft with extra care!

Armed with pickaxes,

 The Chronocracy Team
