Mission IGNIS starts at 2:22 pm CEST, when a Falcon 9 rocket with the crewed Dragon capsule will launch from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Among the four-person Ax-4 crew is Dr Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, a Polish astronaut of the European Space Agency. He will become the second Pole in history to travel to space, and the first to spend time aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
As part of the IGNIS mission, the Polish astronaut will conduct 13 experiments developed by Polish companies and universities. The research will span a wide range of fields, including astronaut health, the human microbiome, new materials, and advanced technologies.
To celebrate it, we have prepared a rover skin based on an internationally acclaimed Polish dish that Sławosz will bring into space: Cosmic Pierogis.
