Notice on Future Updates to “Boyhood's End”

Boyhood's End · published 23 May 2025, 07:11 UTC

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Dear Players,
Thank you for playing “Boyhood's End”!

Until now, the game has adopted a manga-style “serialization,” updating roughly every two weeks. Many of you have told us this format is confusing. We have taken this feedback seriously and will change our operation as follows.

Change in serialization format
Updates for all users will now be delivered chapter by chapter.
The small updates we previously released about every two weeks will be pushed to the beta branch. We plan to update it every Friday night (JST).
Your feedback is extremely important, so if you’re willing, please try the beta branch!

How to play the beta branch:
・Open your Steam Library.
・Right-click “Boyhood's End” and select Properties.
・In the window that appears, click the Betas tab on the left.
・From Beta Participation dropdown, choose public-beta.
・Close the window and the game will update automatically.

We recommend backing up your save data before playing the beta:
Save data is shared between the release version and the beta branch and migrates automatically, so you can continue playing in the beta.
However, if you save in the beta branch and then load that save in the release version, bugs may occur. Please back up your saves before starting the beta.

You can access your save data as follows:
・Open your Steam Library.
・Right-click “Boyhood's End” and choose Manage → Browse local files.
・When the file browser opens, open the www folder.
・The save folder contains your save data.

*The entire folder works as a single save folder. Please copy the whole folder when backing up.

Contact:
Please report bugs, ask questions, or leave feedback via theBugs, Feedback & Impressions form on the Community Hub.

Notes:
(1) Content in the beta is under development and will undergo many changes before the official update.
(2) Unexpected issues may temporarily prevent play. Thank you for your understanding.

That’s all for today’s notice.
We will continue working to improve the game experience and we appreciate your cooperation!
