Hail Willowguards!

A quick little v. 1.2.5 update to celebrate the new week:

  • Each combat track now has a corresponding 'calm' version that plays when the level is clear (or at least appears clear...).
  • Health bars can now be shown independently (e.g. only armor, only magic armor, only health), which may help estimate when you can actually start doing health damage to especially high-armored enemies.
  • Items can now be unequipped! Yes, you can unequip your sword. No, there is no in-game effect. Sorry.
  • Various adjustments to enemy attack signalling, such as an added glint effect, and all attacks (especially by Corpseflies, Snapjaws and Wormmouths) now having some form of warning beforehand. Also slightly adjusted timings on some of these attacks to make damage from them seem less random.
  • Poison DOT damage no longer causes blood to spurt from you (neither does electricity damage).
  • Certain damage types now makes the character flash a different color (e.g. green for poison).
  • Damage-over-time effects now have a flashier VFX to let you know they've happened (applies to Poison, Bleed and Acid).
  • Fixes to the effect location, so now e.g. the wormmouth's poison attack vfx actually comes from its mouth and not from wherever.
  • Settings menu now applies changes properly.
  • Some minor UI fixes regarding tooltips and snapping the virtual cursor to scrollbars.
  • Other minor fixes here and there.

We're definitely not done with Willow Guard, and are currently hard at work on some post-game content, new story content, new quests, new items, and new abilities!

Sale23 Aug 2026Version 1.7 - The Rebalance Update (+ sales & Gamescom!)Hello Willowguards! It's been a little second, but we've kept busy in our burrows. First things first - version 1.7! It's not quite the content update we would've wanted, but there was so much bug-fixing and balancing work being done under the hood, that we thought it best to give y'all access to this version already! Also as an excuse to make this post. Without further ado: Version 1.7 - the R…Steam news16 Jun 2026Demo Re-released!Hello Willowguards! Just a quick note to let you know, in honour of Next Fest and of the upcoming Steam Summer Sale, we'll be re-releasing the Willow Guard demo, in a slightly shorter format. Previously, the demo was the -entire first day- of the game, which was perhaps a little too much of a good thing. Now we've cropped it down to the beginning, with a good chunk of story and some badger-figh…In-game event11 Jun 2026Updates and updatesHello Willowguards! This update has two updates in it: an update for Willow Guard, bringing with it a bunch of fixes and small additions, AND, an update on Willow Guard™! First the boring regular stuff, i.e., the changelog: Version 1.6.7 · Fixed a bug where the companion would sometimes get stuck. · Fixed an error in the penultimate dungeon in Frostreign that made it impossible to pass. · Updat…
