With Venx, the choice is yours: pick between the Melee path, or the Mental path!

Hey Tamers!

We’re rapidly approaching Patch 1.0 and the full launch of Temtem: Swarm (April 2nd, don’t be late), so it’s the perfect time to bring Venx and its two evolutions into the spotlight. This triple threat is all about timing, commitment, and identity.

Venx might look like a simple, bandage-wrapped brawler at first glance, but give it a few levels and a little patience, and it quickly turns into one of the most flexible and rewarding Tems in your run. Whether you lean into raw power or calculated precision, Venx adapts to how you want to play. And in Swarm, that choice hits different.

Venx 101

Let’s Talk Moves

Venx starts off grounded and reliable, but it doesn’t stay that way for long. Right out of the gate, Venx brings Piercing Slash to the table: a wide, sweeping attack that ignores enemy Armor. It’s the kind of move that quietly carries you while everything else ramps up around it.

New Neutral Techs

As the first fully neutral Tem added to Swarm, Venx brings a few new moves with it, so let’s check those out!

Rainbow Crystal

Rainbow Crystal drops formations that can be triggered on contact, bursting into eight projectiles when broken, spreading Freeze, Burn, or Poison across anything nearby.

Magic Lens

Things get clever as Magic Lens creates a rotating barrier that boosts Damage by 60% and Area by 40% for any Tech that passes through it. Locking its direction by aiming helps you line it up with your Techs so you can carve a path through the Swarm.

Undermine

Undermine offers a straightforward form of insurance: a simple mark left on the ground that detonates when stepped on by the Swarm, making it a clean, effective way to lock down space when the battlefield becomes overwhelmed.

At some point, though, the real decision kicks in: do you evolve early and stabilize, or do you hold out and stack that power? Because when you finally commit to a path, your entire build can shift with you!

If you choose Venmet, your abilities will heavily reward getting up close and personal. The newly added Soul Blast, a powerful forward blast that is devastating at close range but loses strength over distance, encourages you to take risks that pay off with the right timing!

If you choose Vental, you can add the new Gamma Beam to your arsenal. A focused laser that gains damage every time it pierces an enemy. This means if you can line up a crowd, the damage can really start to pile up!

What About That Ultimate?

Venx's Ultimate, Whip, is designed to evolve alongside you, offering a cone-shaped attack that tears through enemies. While simple on the surface, its initial value lies in the double experience drops for any Tem defeated by it while still using Venx. It feels good to use immediately, but becomes even more rewarding the more strategically you time it! Once you evolve you’ll miss out on the double exp drops, but your Ultimate adapts to your chosen evolution path, dealing more damage to closer enemies as Venmet or further enemies as Vental.

So, what will you do? Will you cash in and rush your evolution to lock in a role right away, or do you hold out, stack that sweet, sweet power, and wait for a massive, game-breaking spike later? Let us know in the comments!

See you on April 2nd, and until then…
