Thanks for 100K Wishlists! — A First Look at ReVamp’s Lore

Hi, fellow servants of the night!

First of all, thank you for helping us surpass 100,000 wishlists right after ReVamp's announcement. The response has been incredible! We’re hard at work on the game, currently bringing Dracula to life with new ability poses and animations that define how he moves, strikes, and channels his power.

As we continue development, we’d love to know what you want to see in these updates: gameplay deep dives, mechanics, art, or more worldbuilding.

For now, we’re starting with something many of you have been asking about on our Discord:

Why is Dracula building these castles? And who is the woman at the end of the trailer?

Here we are with answers from a tale older than night itself.

The First Shadow

Before night had a name, when reality was nothing but an endless void, there was Achlys. Not a goddess to be worshipped, nor a tyrant to be defied, but the only one present to hear the quietness of the cosmos. A darkness deeper than Tartarus.

She was no ruler. She only was.

But those ancient times are gone, and with them, the memory of Achlys. No one remembers her. No one sees her… Yet she still lingers. In the most secluded corners, where no one dares to look, you can still find her.

And someone managed to do so.

Dracula, once a man of power, faced a truth he could not overcome: loss. Elisabetta, the one he loved, was slipping away beyond the reach of strength, beyond the reach of time.

So he sought answers in the only place left: Nothingness itself.

Achlys answered, and her terms were absolute. In exchange for a single life spared, Dracula would bind himself to her will. An eternity of service, spreading her dominion across the world and feeding her presence with blood, fear, and shadow.

To ensure his devotion, she reshaped him, cursing Dracula to feed on blood, turning his existence into one of endless hunger, isolation, prosecution and inevitable violence.

He accepted. No cost outweighed his loss.

The Price

Now, he raises a castle night after night. Each room built, each invader slain, each drop of blood spilled within its walls strengthens her and brings her closer to the world she seeks to reclaim. Because Achlys does not walk the world as gods do. She lingers at its edges, bound to the void she embodies, unable to manifest without something to anchor her fully.

Through Dracula’s castles, through blood and fear, she is given form.

And through every night, Dracula endures. Not for power, nor for conquest, but for the fragile life he chose to save.

This is where ReVamp's story begins.

Until Next Time

This is just the beginning of what we want to share with you. If there’s a character, mechanic, or part of ReVamp you’d like us to explore next, let us know in the comments or forum discussions!

We’ll be back every month or so with new dev diaries, progress updates, and deeper looks into ReVamp, focusing on the things you’re most curious about.

If you’d like a closer, day-by-day look at development, we invite you to join us on Discord. It’s where we share more frequent updates, answer questions, and chat directly with all of you.

Until then, see you in the shadows!

Community29 May 2026Making ReVamp’s Key Art: Selling the Fantasy of Being DraculaHi, fellow servants of the night! For this monthly update, and while we keep working on ReVamp , we wanted to share some insights about something that might sound simple from the outside, but is surprisingly difficult once you actually sit down to do it: the game’s key art. For this, we’ve been lucky to work with Toni Infante , an incredible artist whose work includes projects with Magic: The G…
