Welcome to the community page for A Noble Steed! To kick us off, here's a summary of what's done so far and then what I have been working on this week.

The current goal is to get a free demo up in the next month or so, then the full base game release (not early access, but still very much at the start of its journey) in the Summer of this year 2026.

This Week's Progress!

NPC's:

- Rewrote named / essential NPC behaviour to use Navmesh pathfinding

- Added transient randomly generated NPC's that wander about, these will be used for escort missions / upgrades etc (the more that safely make it to your village, the better the economy etc will be)

- Gave said NPC's health and made enemies chase and attack them. If they're killed by the horde, the horde will have grown the next day!

Enemies: - Ragdolls now... Ragdoll!

- Rewrote Mob behaviour (as above)

- added some random wandering, accidentally made them quite OP so they need looking at (FIXED)

Horses /Steeds:

- Horses now teleport to the "corral" when tamed (name may change but it's fairly self explanatory I think?)

- Wild horses now wander about

- At any point you can tell any tamed steed to "Roam Free" and you'll effectively turn them loose and they'll wander about within whatever boundary they're in. If the gate isn't closed they'll get out as well! You then have to get close enough to catch them again.

I'd like to add some sort of dynamic breeding system to this so if a male and female are in proximity there's a chance of them breeding, instead of the rather rigid 'horse printer' I have at the moment. This could also mean dynamic herd evolution if you let a bunch just roam around... I feel like it has some fun potential!

World:

- Redesigned the trees and grass - grass and bushes now sway gently

- World building continues as always

Bugs:

- Fixed some animation transitions

- Fixed tack positioning

- Fixed tack doing strange things on loading.

- Fixed the "Stats" button prompt staying there all the time

Progress Summary So Far - Currently Completed Features!

Armour to find and collect

Weapons to find and collect

Tack for your Steed to find and collect

Mounted combat based on the speed you're travelling and the abilities of your mount as much as your own stats and equipment

The starting town, your farm area, and the initial world area to explore as far as the capital outskirts

Hordes of The Rotten to fight - the horde is dynamic, if NPC's die, they become zombies!

Food and items to scavenge and forage

Loose Steeds from the battlefields to find and catch

A Steed breeding system to create new colours, marking combos and better stats

Character customisation

Exp, levelling up, and shopping!

Checkpoints (any armour etc you collect saves as soon as you collect it, but if you reload or die, you will start at your most recently visited checkpoint)

Unique "essential" NPC's with daily schedules

Transient NPC's that attempt to move between towns - if the population of your village grows because NPC's make it there safely, buildings and resources will improve.

Groups of soldiers doing their best

A day and night cycle

An original music score composed by myself
