Cthulhu Keeper is an upcoming real-time tactics game from Finnish developer Kuuasema. You play as the leader of a hidden cult devoted to ancient gods, embarking on a mad quest to please your terrible masters. Develop your cult's secret hideout to unlock new powers, and undertake covert missions to retrieve artifacts, eliminate rivals, and perform dark rituals.

As the name suggests, the game is inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos, originally created by American horror writer H.P. Lovecraft in his 1928 short story The Call of Cthulhu. Since then, the Cthulhu Mythos has grown into a shared fictional universe, expanded by numerous other writers.

The Mythos is known for its themes of cosmic horror - terror not born of blood and gore, but from the realization that humanity is a mere dust particle in a universe ruled by incomprehensible forces. In Cthulhu Keeper, you embrace this unsettling truth. Operating in the shadows of a 1920s city, you carve out a lair beneath society’s feet, build forbidden knowledge, and summon beings whose very presence erodes sanity.

Rather than retelling Lovecraft’s stories directly, the game draws from the tone and symbols of the Mythos - arcane tomes, lurking monstrosities, and creeping madness. Fans - and soon-to-be-fans - of the genre may recognize creatures like the Gug or Shoggoth, but they’ll also discover a strategic layer: managing a cult is more than just worship - it’s about defending your lair, orchestrating stealth missions, and manipulating the world above without drawing too much attention.

We know the Cthulhu Mythos has a dedicated and discerning following, and we approach it with respect. Cthulhu Keeper is not an encyclopedia of eldritch lore, but rather a fresh interpretation shaped by classic strategy games and cosmic horror. Think of it as an initiation into something darker - a whisper of what lies beyond, where you command not heroes, but the cultists who heed the call of the void.
